Quick question- If you assassinate a minister, such as sharpshirov, will only the minister die, or will the general die as well?

As far as I've seen, only ministers die.
However, if you kill an "assasinatable" minister (Head of State and Head of Government cannot be assasinated) that is also a Head of State and Head of Government, he will die in both "slots". Rudolph hess, a +5IC HoG is appointed as an armaments minister?! BOOM HEADSHOT!

True.
The only way we can know is to get someone from Paradox into my dungeon for, say, 15 minutes (which will seem like 15 years).

it does work, cause as the UK "Boom Headshot" Mussolini(armaments minister) "he gone." I know they got a new leader in both spots.

as the UK i traded supplies for money with Italy and Germany, and then i used that money to pay for the assasinations of Speer, Raeder, and Mussolini before the war started.

So when i assassinate the general in the cabinet, I also have to bomb him into extinction in the field? This makes no sense what-so-ever!

No. Ministers, leaders, and tech teams are unrelated, with the one exception that assassinating a minister will kill all ministers in that country with the same name. If you assassinate Tojo Hideki's Chief of Army persona, you'll also kill the Head of Government, Security Minister, etc ministers, but you won't touch the Tojo tech team or either of the Tojo leaders.

That's interesting--As the Russians I noticed after the purge when my "generals" died the ministers of the same name died, too. I guess this is event specific.

Alksnis and Tuhachevskij are killed as both ministers and leaders during the purge. They're killed twice ;)
However, if Shaposhnikov is killed as a leader during a purge he still lives as a tech team.
