I have been thinking about a mechanic, which may be very interesting to play. As you know we can influence other countries' ideologies and start civil wars but what if we could assasinate enemy leaders?
In my design, assasinating other countries' leader musn't be a common thing (it should be something well planned and with a good luck) to keep it balanced and realistic. These result in a chain of events. It should reduce the stability and war support as well as increase the world tension. If a country has less than a fixed amount of stability and ideology drift defense (drift defense should be more important and accesible with some number of tools) it should have a certain possibilty to go in a civil war.
Another thing, also finding the assasinator with another operation, if succesful, it can give a wargoal against assasinator's country and war support as well as giving assasiantor's country a amount of world tension generation, if not, it should also reduce political power and a little of stability.
I think that it can be greatly implemented in the game by developers or modders but if not I just demand a spesific operation for "Operation Valkyrie" (killing Hitler) for USA, France, UK and USSR like how they added assasination of Trostky in Mexico. How can this idea be improved? Please comment down your ideas.
