So right now, it's silly that backstabbing your ally (peacing out early) is the only way to get something out of a peace. Yeah, I want to help my allies, but I also want a little bit out of it. Even when it's my war, I sometimes want to reward my allies, even if they don't want land.
When you get warscore from taking land, you should be able to issue demands up to that warscore. You still might not be able to peace out, but the warleader will get an option to "enforce X's demands." The AI will almost always enforce allies demands, and if you don't, there's a hefty trust and relations penalty. No longer can you give land to anyone but yourself or your vassals when they haven't made demands for it, either.
Where would these options fit? The option for issuing demands would replace the "suggest demands" option, which doesn't have a lot of use for the player, if no space can be found for it elsewhere. The option for giving your allies the demands they asked for is in the diplomatic treaties tab.
