Me too; them leaving historical games would be really bad. On the other hand I cannot see them giving up the 4 major titles.
"leaving history in the past" is linked to the fact that their game is not built on history. Nothing more to interpretate for me. I don't think we'll see them abandon the great 4 soon

I agree, I don't see why everyone are worrying. They have build their studio on their historical titles. I can't see them just abandoning them.

I don't think it's translated to leaving the 4 major titles as to "we're done making new history games", meaning, no way anything other historical than their established franchises.
No, the designers are Henrik Fåhraeus and Joakim Andreasson.

It says "Coming Soon" on the Steam Store. According to Yahoo Answers, "Soon" can be "Anything from a few seconds to a few centuries."
Which you know, could potentially be a tad bit long.
But since you apparently learned from your reveal of HoI4, we can assume that the release will be sooner, relative to the announcement.
Steam messed up and released the steam page for the game on wednesday meaning that everybody and their dog knew it was stellaris already on wednesday; which understandably really annoyed the devs.
On that mistakenly released steam page there was a release date too. You can find screenshots of the leak in the speculation threads in OT and the Stellaris forum.

I wouldn't bet on it. The space game market is a crowded one, without another in the field.
As for the suggestion that Paradox is leaving their historical games behind. That would if true I feel be bad news to both Paradox and their fans.

I don't consider Stellaris being on the same league that the Big Four, simply because it's quite different from the others in a lot of aspects. EU, CK, Vicky, HOI share an historical background and a certain railroading while it seems that Stellaris will be a complete sandbox game. But well we don't know much yet.

I have a technical question! When are you guys considering moving to 64-bit executables? These days most next-gen ports are 64-bit only since consoles have 5+ gigabytes available for games, and it seems like your recent games push the limits of 32-bit, even with the 3 gb flag set.
Most importantly, it would let you trade memory footprint for CPU time, which some games (CK2) could really use.

Are there any chances that in future we will see a game by PDS that will be based on the Cold War or the Modern Era?
What would win in a fight, a silverback gorilla or an adult brown bear?

I am not PDS, but I would like to chime in.
Both have tremendous "punching" power, so if one of them gets of a full hit to the face of the other oen that should decide it. but the Gorilla should be able to also break the rib cage of the bear by hitting full one. The Gorilla can potentially grab the bear and both have lethal bites.
I would put my money on the Gorilla though.
