I think it will be a really nice idea to add to HoI4 (maybe in the DLC) the ability to ask for Lend-Lease from allies or countries, you have good relations with. I think everyone wishes to have help when YOU need it, not when YOUR ALLY decides.

For example, Belgium asks its friends and allies for help, while the chance of success depends on the level of relations and international tension.

What do you think about this idea?

Yes, naturally. If you can offer it then I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to request it. Hopefully it is something that will be added.

I can see this being in an upcoming DLC/Expansion.
Specifically, with the new production system, the ability to request Lend Lease of specific goods.
E.g. as UK I might not need any planes or infantry equipment by the time 1941 rolls round and the USA has started giving me Lend Lease, but I might be dying for a few free Sherman tanks.

Why in DLC? It should be included in a patch. If we agree as customers for this aproach, in next HoI, they will introduce paid unlocks for tier 4 tanks...

As long as the AI doesnt spam you with requests as it tends to be untill you finaly agree i am ok with it. :) I always had to agree to send lend lease and set it to 0 to make them stop in HoI III. This is probably (?) the reason why they removed it in HoI IV, unless we are overlooking something really obvious. Atleast i recall that feature being present in HoI III (and rather annoying thanks to italy :D), but i cant check since i cant play HoI III anymore since a few months for whatever reason.

I think simple cool down period (a month?) would be enough to prevent too many lend lease requests from allies.

In real life lend lease kept many allies afloat and even the UK came to rely heavily on it. In HOI3 it gave you extra IC which I mever really thought was all that realistic so maybe making it give actual equipment and or parts might work better.

What I am wondering is whether or not you will be able to give countries who are not my direct ally but who I decide are strategically usefull to assist equipment. For example. As GB I might find it usefull to support Nationalist China with arms but I do not want to get dragged into open war with Japan in 1937. Would I be able to support them anyway like the Sovjetunion and Germany did historically with arms?

I'm pretty sure that's already been confirmed, and of course it mirrors what happened historically; Russia, Britain and France supported the Spanish government (to varying degrees) despite not having a formal military alliance, whereas Italy and Germany poured considerable resources the Falangists' way (including actual land, air and naval expeditionary forces) but were not formally allied with Franco, and of course Franco never joined the War on the side of the Axis powers who had aided him during the Civil War. (In game play terms, if they had been allied then Spain would have joined the war as an Axis power).

It's actually how it works in HoI IV ! You can send a fixed amount of equipment (Tanks, guns, planes, etc..) per month, or a % of your production ! ;)
