So finaly i realized the implications of having the asignable traits only for the DLC owners.
before 1.5 you did just lvl up your generals and FMs and all was fine. Now most of the previously available FM taits are locked behind the pay-wall. Sure most of them got changed but its now impossible for a nation that starts without a FM with ,for example, offensive docrine, to get it by fighting. Even if now infantry leader(+15%def) and Cav leader are possible to get, thats not a fair tradeoff in my book. Its just lazy patching in my eyes. If its not then i would not be surprised if the next dlc becomes neccesary to play germany. Since its apparantly okay to put stuff, that was previously in the base game, behind a dlc.

You have plenty of non-FM traits that your FMs benefit from. They need a way to fund their improvements to the game. They go out of their way to make it so you can still play the new patches without buying the DLCs. If people don't buy the DLCs, the game can't be improved. There's no way around that. I'm not unsympathetic but in the end Paradox is pretty fair.

Agreed that traits should be part of the free patch since it was something that was previously in the game, but offensive doctrine got nerfed quite hard.

People still earn traits, but offensive doctrine specifically isn't one of those anymore. Well, I say they earn traits because they're supposed to but the system is borked right now so nothing much happens.
