Ascension Help!!!! Human -> Synth

I'm a fairly new Stellaris player but have extensive (decades) of experience playing strategy games and 4x in particular. I'm finding no real instructions on how to turn my human population (or others) into synths. I see tons of commentary about strategy, but what I'm looking for is the most basic instructions on how to make it happen. You know, like.... instructions for software

I have looked around on google and other search engines, this wiki, 3rd party sites etc, and literally nowhere can I find "under this menu click here to start the synth process." I can figure out strategy, but I'm hoping other players who have already suffered through the learning process can help.... PLEASE!

1) Make sure you have Utopia DLC.
2) Complete a tradition tree and pick any ascension perk.
3) Research Droids technology and complete another tradition tree and pick the ascension perk Flesh is Weak
4) Complete the special project that turns everyone into cyborgs
5) Research Synthetycs and Synthetic Personality Matrix technologies, complete yet another tradition tree and pick the ascension perk Synthetic Evolution
6) Complete a second project and you will have completed your synthetic ascension.
