HOW will leaders be randomised? (there's several randomisers around)

do we have a say on what sort of leaders we get (I might not want explorers or conquistadors for the first 100 years, or no admirals, or...)

and the Monarchs will be completely random I suppose? a name is picked, his stats are picked, deathdate, and the next just follows after that date?
OR are the stats for the existing monarchs randomised, while leaving their lifespan intact?

Thus Leon uses Spanish names, gets 60 generals, 20 admirals, 1 15th century explorer, 2 16th, 3 17th, 4 18th, 0 15th century conquistadors, 3 16th, 3 17th, 3 18th, uses unique ID numbers, and gets 0 bonuses to stats.

Thus I could let you specify what you want, but I am not going to. Your guess at monarch generation is roughly accurate. Talk to Shigure for the specifics of monarchs, I dunno myself.

Well, I'd be the only one starting without a COT... And if I'm Iraq, I have the added joy of three Shiite provinces.

So I don't think it's much to ask that the Bak market be moved.

You are Petra, not Iraq. And you cant get a COT in Petra because it upsets the trade balance. But, you will have access to the East African colonial area, so dont get too upset. And if you capture a port on the Red Sea, I can set your explorers to spawn there instead of in the Mediterranian. So dont go off whining just yet.

Golden Horde doesnt have a COT either and early game COT possession is not so great. Merchant income is crap even at trade tech 2, so you have a half-century to conquer for their COT. Not like that will be hard for you, HOGINATOR! :D

I just remembered to put up the AAR reward system. The primary post of this thread has been updated to reflect that. Because of the unique countries, I expect some really cool AARs.

Pre-game AARs get 100 ducats added to the treasury. I know I didnt give people a lot of time to do that, that is why it is just 100 ducats.

After re-reading Adam's piece, I just couldnt let pre-game AARs go without a bonus. Nice job, Adam. I cant wait to see those where you actually have ACTION to discuss :D

Since my skills with save-file editing have reached an insane level and this game is all about breaking traditions; I will introduce this rule to see how it affects the game. Between sessions, I will perform any of the following edits free of charge. However, if I do any of this, it has to go into your AAR with a brilliant description or I will exact horrific revenge on you and change all the names of all units, cities, leaders, and monarchs in your empire to whatever I want them to be.


Change the name of any unit
Change the name of any city
Change the name of any leader
Change the name of any monarch
Change your religion to a non-allowed religion (ex. Catholic to Sunni)
Change the religion of any of your vassals
Move your capital to any province on your continent
Specific transfer of map knowledge between players

Indeed. Being able to change some minor stuff is easy. Reconstructing whole scenarios isnt. You have to work to get to the level where you have an intimate understanding of the whole situation.

I am going to put up a qualification to the capital moving thing in a second; cant move your capital on top of a COT to protect it. That is lame and I know someone would try it if I didnt put up the qualification.
