Report on Commissary-General Jackie Buckland of Velutarian Free Confederacy’s reign
(2321 - 2341)
By Chief Chronicler Fredrik Wester
The first two years of Commissary-General Jackie Buckland’s reign was peaceful. That does not entail it was without incident, though. The cold war between the Jusskan Corporation and the Velutarian was simmering. Claims to each other’s systems was issued, fleets standing against each other, smaller and bigger diplomatic incidents happened as the two civilizations slowly moved towards war.
Early on in her reign, Sutharia was finally officially an ecomenopolis. Totally enshrined in cities, of many layers one might add, the capital was nothing like the planet of old. A new age had dawned. Coupled with this marvel of engineering, the economy kept booming and the Confederate navy was getting more and more powerful.
It was not a surprise that in 2323 it would then be tested against the equally powerful Jusskan navy. Mid year, a state of war existed between the two, and within relatively short time the war was won. The Jusskan, being in a war with another neighbor, did not have the stomach to wage a war for long, and relinquished control of eight systems and one planet. Not only did they lose control of the territory claimed from the Ishni, but also bordering systems.
During this war, an important step in robotics were made. Already a race heavily reliant on robots before interstellar travel was invented, the Velutarian robot population was now greatly upgraded all over the Free Confederacy. So much improved, the robots were now titled Super-Robots, to distinguish them from what came before.
After the war, which had been won so easily, the galactic powers that be wanted more and closer interaction with the Confederacy. The K’Takno Republican Commonalities proposed a Commerical Pact, as did the Grollferp Dynastic Union. The Cooperative of Ponsave viba-Filavv on their side wanted and got a migration treaty.
In another marvel of engineering, the two gateways the Free Confederacy owned was finally made online again, as new technology made it possible to master gateway travel. To the Commissary-General’s delight, both could be used to send forces deep into Jusskan space.
And so, in late 2338, the Velutarian Free Confederacy was again at war with the Jusskan Corporatyion and their allies the Anathurian Sacred Covenant. By the time Jackie Buckland left office, the war was all but won.
Map of the Confederacy anno 2341
The Commissary-General left a much enlarged and stronger Free Confederacy, in a winning position against their nemesis the Jusskan Corporation.
The economy was stronger than ever and much excess resources could be sold at the intergalactic market.
During the reign of Jackie Buckland, two new planets were colonized. The first was Narvik, a savanna world of much space and opportunities.
The second was Kristiania, another savanna world of almost the same size and much potential for mining.
Our neighbors
To everybody’s surprise, the Velutarian Free Confederacy met a new civilization during Jackie Buckland’s reign. The Vhemm Vestige is a reptilian ancient power, a so called fallen empire, that is overwhelmingly powerful, but keeps to themselves.
