What would you recommend to do for self-handicapping?? Even on very hard a patient human Brandenburg is too strong for AIs
My first aim playing that game is to have fun and as a side effect I always try to lern a bit more of history. If you like to have stronger challenge there you have 2 possibilies: eu4_20.png oreu4_24.png it is up to you. I am not a very good player so for me such a handycap would be too hard and would certainly rise my pulse up too high;)

If you're looking for a harder route to becoming Prussia, then perhaps try Pomerania or Teutonic Order. They are both allowed to form Prussia, but don't have Brandenburg's Elector status or Space Marines.

Thats it! And will not become part of the HRE what is more important.
I think the leader loses the leadership if he enter into a war

How the hell is Frankfurt the League Leader? You must be a very weak prussia to have them take the slot over yourself.

Because the mechanic is without exaggeration one of the worst in the game and despite DDRJake's comment from over a year ago stating that they want to make modifiers etc more transparent nothing has happened.

I got Lion of the North on my third attempt after gaming the system by using the day1 DoW strategy because apparently a Protestant Sweden with >3500 development is less deserving of the title than a 16 dev non-elector OPM or a 49 dev non-HRE member nation.

Sidenote: If they haven't closed that loophole yet, always take the D1 strategy. Everything else is nothing short of ALT+F4 levels of frustrating.

I'm guessing the most reliable way to become Protestant League leader is to kill all other Protestant countries then? (I think you need to have a Protestant elector for the League to fire though.)

Not that it's a good thing when you go Protestant, just brainstorming.

Apparently, the the first elector to become protestant is supposed to become the league leader, but In my game, for some reason it was given to 3 province Silesia instead of the more senseable Bohemia.

It really doesn't follow any logic.

The few ideas people have (has to be elector, development, standing armies, HRE member, etc.) are all being disproven regularly by random OPMs or other <80 dev non-electors (sometimes non-HRE members) taking the crown.

If you're looking for a harder route to becoming Prussia, then perhaps try Pomerania or Teutonic Order. They are both allowed to form Prussia, but don't have Brandenburg's Elector status or Space Marines.

You can form Prussia as Saxony too iirc, they do have elector status but most of their ideas are diplomatic not militaristic in nature.
