Hi everyone,

I'm a Zoroastrian Turkish nomad khagan and I took land in Persia. After crushing an rebellion for independance, I saw an opportunity to get rid the annoying wrong culture, wrong religion vassals. My plan is to grant a county to a courtier, then give him the duchy so they he deals with the restless counts.

However... when revoking a county from a rebellious vassal, the primary holding becomes an emply one (when I take it). As a consequence, when granting the castle to a courtier, he becomes only a baron, and I can't grant him the duchy.

Is there any way to make turn the baron into the owner of the province ? Or am I forced to hand out the county to a nomad clan ?

Thanks in advance

EDIT : nevermind, problem solved. I needed to right-click on the castle holding and make it the county capital BEFORE handing it out to a vassal.

You know, if your Crown Authority is high enough you can simply revoke the titles of infidels and heretics without penalty.

Click on a castle and make it county capital, then give the county to someone.
Dukes will still be pita, so even better you could create kingdom title and give it to your khan, so he is busy. But then he gets levies and may get fancy ideas of overthrowing khan. Then you'd have to siege all his petty counts to get enough warscore.
If you're good at managing your khans it is worth it though.
