Hi,
I remember that in the past a player can free himself from the vassal's status by first asking for freedom, and then he gets the possibility to declare a war to reach freedom. Now this seems to be different. Did something changed on the way vassals are handled?

This is my situation:
While a "war in heaven" I became a vassal of one of the awakened empires. I was really relaxed about it, since it was just a matter of time till I am strong enough to fist ask for my freedom, and afterwards declare war to fight for it.
Meanwhile my empire is strong enough, so I want to send my "masters" to the place where they belong... but there is no option to declare a war. I can ask for my freedom (and get the typical negative answer), but the option of declaring a war is not in the list of actions for the awakened empire. It's not even grayed out, but really not there.
Is this intended? Can I somehow escape this situation?
I am playing with the latest beta patch and with all addons except Megacorps. The game was started under 2.2.2.

Cheers, Kane

nope, the war is over.

EDIT: I just see that there is a war that is named "war in heaven" which is going on. But with a former vasal of the second fallen empire. So I will try to finish this one.

Thanks for the answer!
