As a vaasal allying with the overlord or another of it's vassals?

Hello everyone,

Maybe I missed something, but why is it possible as a vassal to make an alliance with your overlord?
I mean, I'm already called into a war anyway when the boss declares a war.
I can also ally with another vassal of our overlord. It however does not allow us to support eachother's independence (unfortunatly).

It used to say "it's not up to us" or something allong the line of "they are your superior overlord".

Couldn't find this in the patchnotes. Is it a bug or suppose to work like that now?

At least with PUs, if you ally with another PU you both war against your overlord.

The same with vassals. Norway and Sweden in 1444 is a good example if you play Norway.

What I did was simply start as burgundy and release holland. Let it tick for 1 day to get rid of distant border message. Then I can simply ally vassals of burgundy and ally burgundy himself

Norway and Sweden in 1444 are PUs.

Well, since the topic has been seen over a 200 times. I suppose I can conclude that it works as intended. Just strange it's not in the patchnotes.

And yea, Norway and Sweden are PU's, which suppose to be different then being a vassal.
