With EU4 MP, given that by it's very nature all of EU4's competition is asymmetric, the more the merrier. I'd rather see a talented player join Paradox's in-house game and give feedback on their upcoming patch stuffz. Since they're on a LAN in Stockholm, that might not be possible.

Most devs actually tend to be fairly mediocre players in my experience. There are exceptions, of course, and Wiz might be one of them (I have no idea), but it is very possible that they get trounced by very good players. Certainly, in most videos where devs of any game showcased gameplay which I've seen, I was somewhat underwhelmed by their playstyle.
At any rate, even though it would be interesting to see, I don't think I would recommend taking the risk to P'dox, foreseeing a lot of "Wiz can't even play the game he designs" threads. Game design has less to do with competitive level play anyways, except for certain highly polished MP experiences like MOBAs or ego shooters, and more with making a game appealing to the average players of the genre. As such, high level player skills may actually be more a hindrance than an advantage when designing a "good" (read: appealing) game.

No reason you couldn't add someone else and use Steam. It would be a large disadvantage for someone in California or some such but for most European players they'd be sub-100ms ping, and the advantage conferred by 60ms ping vs 1ms ping in EU IV is minimal. It's not a shooter or something. The barrier in this regard isn't connection

I'm not necessarily for an Arumba vs Wiz match but i would love to see a multiplayer with the devs involving youtubers too, something like the HoI IV multiplayer match was, of course this would be much longer.
I asked Wiz about this more than a year ago and I got nothing in reply. As others have said, they aren't the best players but this doesn't mean anything if the spirit is all in good fun. Personally I'd do this.
32 Custom Nations with 200 points on a blank map, I'd like to see how everyone builds their nation and what they consider important. Paradox and youtubers (or whoever) are mixed into teams of 2, so it's not paradox vs. community as to create a better friendly experience. If you want to divide the teams more than two ways, whatever, I know the game is usually played as a free for all but this format might work too.

I don't get it, and this is not the first thread of the sort. You are obviously interested in celebrities and flashy showdowns, so why not migrate to forums focusing on celebrity gossip or wrestling? I get that there are some prominent personalities in the community, but this seems like sucking up. I am saying this, because I'd be embarrassed to publicly suck up to people who (no offence) aren't worth the attention, because as the famous words go: great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss... bla bla. Am I missing something?

Being grumpy and getting older by the minute myself, it would be interesting for me to see how well the devs play, not out of any sense of hero worship, but because I think it might teach me something about how certain designs come about. I'm pretty certain your playstyle is reflected strongly in your design, seeing this in action and drawing conclusions from it would be fun. Not that this would need a match against a youtuber, but being able to compare it with a player who is on record with fine play would also make sense.
Anyways, what do you care why people would like to watch such a thing enough to disrespect them?
