Chupa, you always asking about something that could be answered lurking the forums...

In one screenshot of the Hungary AAR (one of *just* two of those AARs) there is a *catapult* in one blue province. Check it out!

Edited: By the way, i think that catapults are less attractive than cannons, but its historically correct. Perhaps you can develope some tech to get cannons.

I think that catapult is just the sprit to indicate sieging, like the cannon next to a unit in EU sieges. He is asking if catapuls (or other artillery) will be present as units!

I heard about it, but I forgot, since IIRC most reviews thought it more or less sucked. I'm not sure if I want to wreck my old illusions...how would you rate it on a scale of 1-10?

No more than 5-6 unfortunately.

They missed out on the opportunity to add MP functionality and you play ROBIN rather than a saxon lord. Difficulty level is also much lower than in the original. And the most serious offense: They didn't keep any of the excellent music!

Yep, there was greek fire, boulders and a third alternative, the name of which escapes me at the moment... it was probably what was referred to as dead people earlier...

Wait…it’s coming to me now…I think it was called disease or some such. But that could just as easily be dead horses...
Incredible. I played that game for ages and never noticed. I think I should try finding it again...

The game wasn't very good at all (fun as a nostalgic play through though). If you want to play "the real thing" there was a revamped version that basically was the original version but with new graphics and remastered music. I don't think it had mp either (not sure though) and I don't remember what it was called except for Defender of the Crown.

Then again, if you want to play "the real thing", then why don't you load up an emulator (or your old C64) and actually play _the real thing_? :p

Sad to hear that, having the alternative to play Robin would have been nice, but playing him and nobody else...no thanks. A shame about the music. I really should get round to downloading the old classics some day... Iron Lord had IMHO even better music than DotC (but the game itself was a bit less elegant in it’s construction).

Was the re-mastered game version included with the re-release or was that another version?

I just might do that...or I'll go retrieve the old breadbox itself... :)

or just try this: http://www.cinemaware.com/browser/dotc/final.asp

The remastered version was sold in stores about a year or so before the new robin hood version and still is sold at webhallen.se
