Previous versions of Europa Universalis have supported up to 24 players at a time. Though the gang at Paradox haven't set any hard numbers yet, they indicated to us that they'd like to support at least that many in the new game.

Noticed the coat of arms of Denmark is in the wrong colors it should be like the flags not blue background and yellow lions like the friesian

Looking good...the higher resolution pictures are pleasing. I must have been on the moon all this time, as I hadn't realized the game ended so "soon"--1789 until reading this article. I view the French Revolution as catalyzing the archetypal elements of the Old Order throughout Europe (as reactions). A shame they won't be conceptualized in the game...

Oh and,

Rulers must consider what forms of religion to tolerate within their lands and can even elect to switch from one type of religion to another. Switching within the same family is relatively easy but the only way you can make the more dramatic changes (like from Protestant to Muslim) is to be conquered by a nation that focuses on an entirely different type of religion.

Or something a enterprising player could do to those bigger fareastern powers.. all for glory rather than any practical reason

Seems like there are now some real fears for the habsburgs.. or correspondingly some intresting choises for the ottos to pull off a switch on europe



And along with (better?) vassalisations, and hopefully oughtright annexations, there will finally be the right tools available for the enterprising "conqueror of worlds, terror of chickens"

I bet (and hope) that the unit graphics are far from finished. The current ones are a bit amusing.

It has yellow background and blue lions in the screenshots though...
