Balance in research and tech
Hello guys;
First of all, everything sounds great, thanks for the grand effort to put this thing together!
My question has to do with your changes to research and tech teams, etc. How were you able to balance having a max of double (10) the old system (5)? Given that you have played a 36 campaign to completion, I don't doubt that you pulled it off... but some elaboration on the details would be great.

Several things, but mainly two:
- The general speed of research is a little lower
- The cost of research works according to diminishing returns, so you can get ~75% speed for half the cost, or 100% speed with 100% of the cost - but 100% of the cost is a lot of money...

The combat report states: "We lost xxx brave men". Does this include KIA, MIA, WIA and POW or only the soldiers who are really dead?

There's some time needed for a commander to take over command of the army. Does the AI has to wait for its commanders too?

Public service announcement: no real sodiers were harmed in the making of this game. No real soldiers die as a result of play. Well, apart from little electronic ones...
But, to answer your question, the number is derived from the MP value of unit STR losses, so notionally they are for all causes where the WIA/MIA does not return to their unit or recover sufficiently to return to the line within a few hours.

Out of curiosity, is non-steam version compatible with steam version in terms of multiplayer and such or do you need HoI3 alike "fix it yourself" method?

hell i would like to buy this as im a great hoi 2 fan and have hoi3 in possesion but not yet played beacause of system requirments. so please make it a retail version on CD/DVD ! thanks guys for answering !

Don't rely too much on that. Maybe in the future, but AFAIK the game has been thought as download-only.
damn, even if it's with all the versions of hoi2 i would stil buy it and many people with me i think. i just like to go home with a box in my hand looking at all the pictures at the back look at them a dozen times, hell i want it so much !
