I've been wondering hard about whether or not I want to do a full replace of kingdoms with Tribunals and other organized groups, leaving mundane politics to independent duchies.

It's really hard to say, since...well, frankly it's impossible to wholly have the magical and mundane governments side by side and overlapping.

You could use e.g. the cultures as signifying mundane "nations".

Another option: use one (or more) holding types for mage holdings and another (or more) for mortal settlements. Then the mortal baronies could have a tirular mortal county as liege and these mortal counts could have a mortal titular duxhy as liege, etc. The problem woth that would be that there would be no mapmode to reflect mortal realms with that setup.

They are opposed, but generally speaking the other religions don't join so much. Forgot if Zoroastrians were in it or not and don't have my books at present. (I do recall that non-Muslims are mostly in a single house.) I might go cultural instead for them, really.

Solomonic mobeds are canonically a thing, yah. I definitely agree with making it limited to particular cultures rather than religions, like the Order of Hermes (largely Arabic and Persian).
