Jesuits are only an event for 2 countries. But it seems like you are talking about an institution.

From what I understand he plays as Ming, conquered Catholic provinces in Europe and wants Catholicism to spread in mainland China via event, probably to convert without having to collapse to rebels? But without more context it's hard to understand.
Actually I was talking about Ning who wants to turn Catholic. I'm not sure if I should have waited for Jesuits first before going for renaissance

The chain of events starts here. You need an European nation with a merchant in one of your nodes, and there is a MTTH of 32 months before chosing to close or open China. Whatever you chose, there is then a MTTH of 10 years before the arrival of Jesuits. Renaissance has nothing to do with it, it adds Renaissance to the province if you don't have it, but that's not worth it to wait to embrace Renaissance because it won't happen until 1550, and Ming can develop it easily. Is that what you were referring to?
