Playing the US in the demo, at war with Mexico. I went through the tutorials and have a grasp of how the budget works. However I must be doing something wrong.

When I entered the war, my units were at 100% supply level, a few days after the war started my supplies for my units went to 4% and now are at 0%. I maxed out the military budget, have my trade managed by the AI. Still, my supply level for my units is at 0%. No matter if they are in enemy territory or friendly territory. I am blockading the Mexican ports in the gulf.

What am I missing here? I am not sure if I need to provide more info, but my understanding is, that the AI, if needed, will buy the goods your country needs if it cannot produce them. I do have a budget surplus, so I should be able to buy the goods I need, well the AI anyway.

Thanks.

I guess it could be somewhat plausible that there is dire lack of military goods in the market and you just cannot buy any...

Check the trade screen and check out if there is any other major wars going on.

Edit. Did you move the National Stockpile slider in budget screen? That is basically how much many you give to AI to buy needed goods, so putting it too low might hurt your supply situation.

I did lower the national stock pile budget to almost nothing, so I could balance the budget. I will raise back to what it was originally and see what happens. That would actually make a lot of sense, so I am basically robbing my country of money to buy goods.

Thanks.
