What are you guy's usual army sizes. I like to have my army stacks to be homogenous. mixing tank and infantry divisions seems to be a bad idea to me.

I like to keep my forces:

-3 divs of infantry is an infantry corp led by a Lt.Gen.
-4 divs of infantry (mot later) + hq is an HQ led by a FM or at least a General
-1 arm + 2 mot (mech) is an armored corp led by panzer leader Lt.Gen.
-3 cav is an anti partisan force led by old guards
-2 mil + 1 inf is a line infantry corp led by low quality lt.gen
-3 para, 3 mnt, 3 mar is a special operations corp led by commando lt.gen.

Yeah, I do get ocd about managing my forces.

soft:
big army : 8 inf + 4 mech (field artillery/medium tank)
little army: 4 inf + 2 mech (field artillery/medium tank)

heavy:
big army : 8 tank + 4 motoriz. (heavy tank/self propelled artillery)
little army: 4 tank + 2 motoriz. (heavy tank/self propelled artillery)

btw: in DH combined army bonus seem to be ony +5.00 (instead old +15.00)
and about brigates: heavy tank seem to be better than super-heavy tank, in fact:

Heavy: soft attack 8 /hard attack 8/toughness 8/supply -0.5/fuel -2.8
Super Heavy: (soft attack 7 /hard attack 8/toughness 8/supply -0.6/fuel -2.0

I usually have each infantry division as its own corps, while chosing each leader by hand. I use corps of three for field marshals and generals to make them easier spotable. The "strike force" consists of a grouped tank and a motorized/mechanized infantry.

That must still be a pain in the less honourable parts to deal with.

I usually keep my infantry and militia in 3s or 6s depending on how many I have, but depending on what division names I get this can vary, especially with militias. As Germany for example my first 10 militia are all Luftwaffen Feld Division and they get split into two stacks of 5 (which are usually the main defenders in France once it's down). Garrisons are typically 1s and 2s, and I mix my mobile stuff together to get combined arms corps. I add the '39 and above HQs to them as well; alternatively I will have a powerful general lead a stack of 2-5 cavalry with an HQ.

Late game, sometimes I combine all the mobile unit types into six-stacks, but that's just for flavour. Even as Germany, I don't usually splurge two whole Panzer divisions on a single Pz leader. Even Rommel, Guderian, Manstein.

Commandos are in 1s and 2s, sometimes 3s, because they're always few.

I never put more than 6 divisions in a stack because it's irritating enough to scroll through the stacks themselves, and to check my big fleet(s) out.
