Hey,

I just starting playing this mod. It looks great, but I have a little problem. I am unable to make tanks, but I have like 3 divisions in Berlin. The year is january '39

I have tank divisions in my Brigade Attachments button.

Is this normal or do I need to attach a armoured brigade to an infantry corps to create an armoured division or did I install the game badly?

Also I'm unable to develop Guerillia infantry and some air and sea attachments are in my brigade attachments

I installed the game with the 1.2 patch for armageddon

tnx

As Germany you have to wait until the "End of Czechoslovakia" event to start building tanks. As any other country you have to wait until Germany goes to war, then an event will fire, allowing you to build them.

Guerrilla infantry is only for the countries that have such land doctrine, like for example China, so you can't build them as Germany.

About the attachments thing, i think that in vanilla it's also that way.

As message on the start of TRP game says:Nobody in the world cant build modern tank divisions until Germany, historicaly, shows to the world how to use tank divisions.Thats in the Poland campaign.
As Germany you have 3 ARM, +2 ARM divisions you can assemble from captured Czech tanks(youl get them in the pool after anexation of Chech republic). And you still can produce some in 1939 before Poland.

Historicaly Germany had 7 ARM divs for Poland.

thats all normal.

Tank attachments: as far as I know tanks are a bit more complex than in vanilla. On the one hand you have the 'basic' tank frame. These are the techs like '1939 tank'. Then you have the attach one of the 3 brigades: light tank (like 38t or PII), med tank (like PIII or PIV) or hvy tank (tiger). In vanilla only hvy tank were brigades...

This is my conclusion from my games with TRP so maybe I am wrong :D

Panzer Divisions are Panzers. I tend to attach SP Artillery to these and attach armoured brigades to my mech or motorized to simulate the "panzer grenadier" element which to be waaaay simple was a penny packet approach to some extent with armour. They had armour, just not like a Panzer Division, thats the deal with armoured brigades IMHO.

And if your playing as Germany you are specifically told that you cannot build armoured until sometime after Gemrany takes the rest of the Czechs.

And you have waaaaaay to little oil brother. Try to have minimum 200k in reserve by Poland. Good Luck! ;)

Ok, I think i'm about to restart. Hard/agressive was a bit to difficult for me.
Another question: are you able to make SS infantry or armor divisions or do you get them only by event?

+

Do i get transportplanes by another event, I also don't have them.

The mod is designed to be played on normal-normal, it says so in the game instructions. SS divisions come by events if you meet the requirements (basically manpower and resources, in X date). And in regards to transportplanes, you should be able to build them since the start, even without having the 1937 tech researched.

The big (heavy I think) tank brigades that are available are much better than any of the artillery out there. And these particular tank brigades cannot be added to any of the other divisions. (I think - I haven't gotten to MECH yet.)

That depends on what you mean by "better". The early heavy models have -4 speed, and the speed of the tank is every bit as important as the punch it delivers.

that is true, but even with -4 they don't slow down the motorized infantry. My 39II tank divs with hvy tank attached have a max speed of 27.

I just discovered the Mech. give them a heavy "modern" armor brigade and they are just about the same as an ARM. They just have a higher defense.

And they move faster.

Now, when do they get the combined arms bonus. Is MECH infantry or armored for that calculation?

Rats. I figured that would be it.

Could go either way - Mechanized Infantry. Armored and Infantry.
They fight like infantry - well, infantry with a little organic armor and they have those mobile pill-boxes.

As anyone who has played "Steel Panzers" knows, it is much safer to be OUTSIDE the dang half-track when the first anything bigger than a rifle hits it.

Of course, half-tracks move much quicker across dirt than trucks do.

Early on in the war a Mech division is almost as good as an armor division with a brigade attached to it. If you attach the same brigade to the Armor division then ofcourse hte Armor division is much better.

But also keep this in mind as new upgrades become available the Armor division will quickly out pace the Mech division in combat stats.
