I have not been able to play this game post42, and am tempted to try again. Can I ask about the cav progression path?

Are semi-mot calvary upgradable to Arm Cav/Air Cav? If yes, is the progression:

Semi Mot ----> Arm Cav
-or-> Air Cav

or is it
Semit Mot --> Arm Cav --> Air Cav?

I am asking cos I am thinking of playing Ger from 36 but not using Cav in place of Inf :D
