Armageddon/Abyss unit name question

So, I absolutely love playing Armageddon/Abyss. My only issue really is that the unit names are so generic. Is there a mod out there that changes the default names for units (Carrier 1, Battleship 2, etc) into something more appropriate? I suppose I could replace them with the original HOI2 unit name lists, modifying them to account for changes in territory (USNA ships would only be named after northern states, for example), but that's a lot of effort to go through is someone else has already made a mod like this

No mods for those scenarios that I know of, but it's not that hard to do. Just don't use the in-game editor!

I find it odd how the Armageddon scenarios seem like they've been a little bit done half-ass honestly. Sure it's mostly for multiplayer but they could've made it a bit less like one of those chincey alternate history things.

It works the same way in both games. It's just different if you want to change the names after they're created or mod the unit-names list.

Here's an interesting question! I sat down to start changing around the ship names, only to find that I couldn't find Armageddon or Abyss in the scenarios folder! Am I looking in the wrong place for the unit names list?

The default one is, yeah, but Armageddon seems to use a different list (or maybe it doesn't even use a list at all,it just auto-assigns it a default name). I can't find anything in db/unitnames.csv that matches the unit names for Armageddon =/

Thats because in the unitnames.csv file there are no listings for the country tags they used. If anyone knows what all of the tags are it would be awsome if they posted them here, or posted a link on how to find them. Then you could mod the csv file correctly.

UTL - The Lbertadores
UCH- Republic of China
UBO - Bourbon
UPR - Prussia
URO - Roma
UPS - PRRS (Japan)
UCS - The Confedrates
UIR - Indian Republic
URE - Persia
UTC - The Cossacks
UIC - Indo China
UAP - APR (South Africa)
UER - Empire of Russia
UGS - Sweeden
TAN - Tannu Tuva
UTO - The Ottomans
UES - European Soviets

the scenario files (*.inc) are in the GlobalWar (Armageddon) and PreGlobalWar (Abyss) folders, but what you are looking for is the unitnames.csv file in the db folder.
None of the Armageddon countries have any entry's in that file so you will need to add them (or copy them from their "Base" country).
