What is in Green is what was changed from OLD to NEW trait wise.

OLD

Somervell;60336;USA;1930;1930;1930;1990;1;5;1;1;0;5;0;L60336;1930;1970;x

NEW

Somervell B.B.;60336;USA;1940;1942;1945;1990;1;5;0;1;0;5;0;L60336;1940;1955;x

Thanks for posting this!

I never intended to nerf Gen. Somervell, so for what it's worth I'm totally in favor of giving him his trait back.

My apologies to all for the error!

I like historical OOBs, and thus the Cavour and Andrea Doria-class battleships should be BB I and II respectively, or perhaps both II if you want to take refitting into account.
I think this reinforces my point about not being able to build a consensus for what they should be...

BTW, is there any up-to-date parser around to read the savegame and count the number of convoys each country has sunken ?

I am currently trying to see if 12 sub stacks will be more successful vs. convoys than twice the number of 6 sub stacks. From what I have seen I think that twice the number of 6 sub stacks are better for sinking while 12 sub fleets are better for taking out/defeating the small hunter-killer groups, but backing my feelings with hard numbers would be nice.

In addition the possibilty to sort by seazone would be nice, too, since it is likely that some seazones will see more convoy traffic despite the AI rerouting its convoys.

I think Lord Ederon has one. Ask him, or go to ederon.net and ask there.

coreymas,
On another matter is your database fix going to take care of the non-English language CTD problem that has been reported?

Dunno if this is an issue for the patch team, but I checked some things via nofog and fullcontrol and noticed a problem with Soviet naval units: after BP fired the Sov AI moved remaining ships/subs from the Baltic and from Murmansk etc. to the far east, but those units never really rebase. They just sit in the port of Vladivostok but still have Murmansk as home base, so they're always out of supply since their former bases are of course hold by Germany now. Can this be fixed so that they correctly rebase?

Some more of them are also locked in the Black Sea without supplies because they lost all ports there as well, but I don't know if there can be anything done about it, since they can't pass the Bosporus anyway as long as Turkey is there.

Soviet Union still begins the '41 scenario with the province of 'Iasi' (id:433), which historically never had been soviet, only the 'Beltsy', 'Chisinev' and 'Ismail' provinces (id's: 230, 434 and 435 respectively) being claimed by the soviets and ceded by Romania in the summer of 1940.

In another order of issues, the bombers (TAC's) losses in the 1.3b were tremendously high in my opinion and often concentrated on an single unit in the formation- this without any air units opposition. I ignore though if changes were made at this level for 1.3 b 2.

This change was introduced in Armageddon 1.2 and was not altered in any 1.3 version.

I play as Germany and just got a CTD after the war with Poland has started (via event). I reloaded the autosave (01.09.1939) and this time the Danzig or war event didn't fire. Maybe this was the reason why the date for this event was originally 30.08.1939 and not 01.09.1939?

EDIT: I found out that I quite often get a CTD when I choose an ongoing battle via the button (the one next to the deploy button). It does it every third or fourth time??

EDIT 2: I found the reason for the CTD. It was the sfx/wave-files I installed. With the original ones it works fine. I have had these "own" wav-files in use for a long time so don't know why they don't work with V1.3b2?

I believe I've solved the language bug.
Here is a link to corrected spy2 messages.
http://www.mediafire.com/?mcmntj
patch this into the SPY2 section of doomsdaytext.csv (replacing what's there now) and it should resolve the non-English crash issue. Test it and make sure I didn't leave anything out. The problem with the original file is that the number of %s strings did not match the number in the English version.

Use CSA Badass' fix. He posted a URL earlier in the thread to a corrected icl_36.ai file.

A minor point, but in the early scenarios Germany starts with "Korps" and not "Armeekorps" - could you fix these? Only a minor issue, but it looks better and means that the next corps you place will be numbered correctly.

Assuming you haven't already fixed it, it's like a two minute job.

You should also remove the KMS and IJN prefixes if you haven't already, and edit unitnames.csv appropriately.

I was playing JAP in '36GC.

USA was not in the Allied but was at war with JAP.
Axis has been destroyed in '45.

Then the game was frozen:
- FRance did not have city of light event
- SOV did not decide to attack JAP

I edited the game so USA joined Allied and it fixes that issues.
May be some triggers should be modified.

Concerning my sub/escort problem: I later saw that I had forgotten to research raiding doctrines when I wrote about larger problems than before. Once I got them Grey Wolves were ahead again in the battle for the Atlantic. 12 sub stacks were essentially too large again since they were able to defeat the small AI's hunter/killer groups.

In the end the Battle for the Atlantic can still be won by the end of '40.

When I looked at the UK at the end of October I saw something strange and nice at the same time. The UK was trying to build lots of convoy transports since it already lost more than 1,000. But it was trying to build about 140! 3 serials of convoys. I doubt this is intended ;)

Playing a game as Japan and some odd happenings. Germany seems to have gotten stupid. Somehow Germany never managed to get out of poland in the war against the soviet Union with the war starting in mid 42 and ending in late 47. I managed to safely get moscow and beyond. And the weirdest part was that Republican spain in the allies and in 47 broke out of spain and started taking Germany over. It got all the way up to poland with it's small army. And even after Spain took over berlin Germany was still sending it's entire army to the a very small border with the soviet union and not fighting spain. And right now spain still has 3 german provinces under it's control with no more then 2 divisions total between them and Germany hasn't made any effort to take them.

That's nothing - In my current Germany game AI Romania dowed SU in mid-1940. It's april 1941 now, Romania is the only country the SU is at war with, the SU army is more than ten times the size of the Romanian. Nevetheless SU is loosing territory and has not made a single successfull attack so far.
