SOLUTION FOUND and Bug Report submitted!!!
Thanks for all the people here who helped me solved this!
Here's a link to my bug report with how to fix Seljuk, Sabuktigin, and Timur dynasties, and to make sure they use the Manifest Destiny CB properly.
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-not-spawning-with-correct-dynasties.1034397/

I had a game where for the first time both Seljuks and Ghaznavids spawned.. (Not since a bajillion years ago when I first got the game). I was SO happy! Finally a Fucking challenge that could put me in game over state as ERE. But they were only declaring wars for a single county.. EVERY DAMN TIME!! I couldve sworn they use to have special CBs, a Invasion Manifest CB for Kingdoms in the case of Seljuks.

So I switched over to Seljuk and to my surprise that CB doesnt even appear? WTF. Why was it removed?? Or should I not be surprised that its probably been "broken" and paradox as usual doesn't take notice because they spend more time playing MP games only taking notice of what players do?

So I did little searching.. I think I may have found the issue. The CB is only coded to work for specific dynasties (the ones seen in later start dates where they are already landed). When loading up the 1066 start the Seljuks have access to the CB. But they don't get it when they spawn as Courtiers in the 900s anymore.. I can't remember if it was Horse Lords that made the change or not, but adventurers like Seljuks and Ghaznavids don't spawn with the same dynasty names as the later start dates (Seljuk and Ghaznavid).

In my game when they spawned, i got Seljukid and Gurganjid. Im pretty certain the CB code wasn't updated when they made that change.. So yep Id say its been broken for awhile..

C'mon now we need these guys to be the monsters.. That's what game rules are for. If someone finds them toooo hard then they can be turned off.

Yeah in my case they rarely if ever appear. I know it well since I usually aim to make Persia part of my core territory. Also because I have been olaying with deadly and common settings for disease. Played a few times and every tijme Seljuk appears he dies to the black death or some other disease.

Seljuks require a landed turk and Ghaznavids are more onerous. Requiring a landed turk who is also Sunni.

Strange that they do not get the same CB, though wasn't Seljuk dynasty the on ly oine that gets it? I don't recall Ghaznavids getting Manifest Destiny CB.

The Manifest Destiny Invasion is for Seljuk and Timurids i believe. But I couldve swore Ghaznavids had a good CB as well. If not then they should. Maybe switch so instead of Kingdoms the Ghaznavids can conquer a entire Duchy at a time. That'll prevent them from getting super big like the Seljuks but atleast they'll still be fearsome in that area.

I thought mercenary Turks counted as landed Turks for Seljuk purposes? Just someone who has a court he can spawn in.

They do, IIRC. However, in addition to whether or not Seljuk lives or dies, there are a couple of other factors that control whether or not he starts his conquest. He won't start it if he's been converted away from Sunni, for example.

Another reason Seljuk doesn't pop up as much as he used to is that he can actually lose his initial war, if he's fighting an Abbasid or Saffarid blob. The vast majority of his event troops come after the initial conquest, not as a part of it.

I did some testing and it appears that the dynasty parameter for the script command create_character (and its derivations) does not seem to take ID correctly.

So this will generate a random dynasty for Sabuktigin:
Code:
immediate = {
    create_character = {
        random_traits = no
        name = "Sabuktigin"
        dynasty = 790
        religion = ROOT
        culture = ROOT
        female = no
        age = 18
        attributes = {
            martial = 12
            diplomacy = 8
            stewardship = 9
            intrigue = 9
            learning = 6
        }
        health = 6
        fertility = 0.8
        trait = brilliant_strategist
        trait = diligent
        trait = ambitious
        trait = proud
        trait = quick
        trait = adventurer
    }

    new_character = {
        set_character_flag = sabuktigin_himself
        character_event = {
            id = 60401
            days = 3285
            random = 730
        }
    }
}

However, if you change the code so that dynasty gets set in the new_character scope it'll work correctly:
Code:
immediate = {
    create_character = {
        random_traits = no
        name = "Sabuktigin"
        religion = ROOT
        culture = ROOT
        female = no
        age = 18
        attributes = {
            martial = 12
            diplomacy = 8
            stewardship = 9
            intrigue = 9
            learning = 6
        }
        health = 6
        fertility = 0.8
        trait = brilliant_strategist
        trait = diligent
        trait = ambitious
        trait = proud
        trait = quick
        trait = adventurer
    }

    new_character = {
        set_character_flag = sabuktigin_himself
        dynasty = 790
        character_event = {
            id = 60401
            days = 3285
            random = 730
        }
    }
}

Unrelated, but it seems like when generating characters, the scripted parameters are put in before everything else is randomized. So with Seljuk, he's scripted to be a brilliant strategist, but then he has a random martial education after being generated due to being overwritten by the script's create_random_soldier.

OMG I can't edit this because the forum keeps telling me it looks like spam.

Wow i knew there was something wrong when Seljuk spawned with Misguided Warrior instead of Brilliant Strategist!! Lol. So I assume to fix his dynasty is the same as Sabuktigin? By moving the Dynasty line down from the first half to second half of script?

Also I want to make sure Timur spawns correctly too. Where at in the files did you find these?

PS. I think you need to post those script codes only in new posts. I had trouble trying to edit a post and adding them in later as well!

I had the same problem with Seljuk; he spawned, but belonged to some weird dynasty, and with pretty mediocre skills. Edited the game, making sure his dynasty was the correct one (613). A few years later, we eye each other warily along the Zagros. :)

If you change the files, did you have to revert to a earlier save before he spawns? to fix his dynasty and CB?

Also here's some screenshots to show my example.. im playing with HIP but this issue applies to both Vanilla and HIP.
Here's Seljuk in 1055 when he's already landed. He has the correct Dynasty and Manifest CB.

Now here's my Old Gods game where he spawned sometime in the 970s.
You'll notice he has a different Dynasty and isn't allowed to use Manifest CB.
Also he didn't spawn as a Brilliant Strategist as the code said he would...

They have the Manifest Destiny CB, which is the best CB in the entire game. It should be noted that this CB is tied to DYNASTIES and not titles. If Seljuk dies with no heirs from his dynasty, his successor will lose the CB.

If you change the files, did you have to revert to a earlier save before he spawns? to fix his dynasty and CB?

I edited the savegame after he spawned and declared his first war but before he became landed. He's generated his title and has happily been declaring war for kingdoms since, so I assume it worked out well. :)

All I did was amend his character's

Code:
            dnt=whatever

line to

Code:
            dnt=613

and also played around a bit with his attributes (his health and fertility were as expected, but his character and abilities were not).

Yes, do the same as with Sabuktigin. You may want to change Seljuk to spawn with the script command create_character instead of create_random_soldier as well so he doesn't get a randomized martial education. Timur is found in the same script file: mongol_events.txt

Needs to be fixed ASAP. I was just about to start a Byz run, but now it'll feel like such a hollow experience... :(

Yeah but its a easy fix if you want to do it yourself. Im no expert modder either, once I found where it was located in the files it was easy.

I suggest you open/edit with Notepad++
Go to where you find your Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2 file. Then open Events folder and find "mongols_events.txt"

In that file is the code for the Mongols, Seljuk, Timur, and Sabuktigin.

Just scroll down until you find their lines which look like how fg109 posted earlier. Then move the dynasty line down like the red arrow shows, put it above the character_event line.

The only difference is Seljuk where you ALSO need to edit his "create_random_soldier" line and replace it with "create_character"

You'll want to do this for all 3 adventurers. I posted their Dynasty # beside them.
Seljuk 613
Timur 800
Sabuktigin 790

Yep sweet I found them. Thanks so much. Ill be writing up a official bug report with all this info later this month when Paradox gets back from Vacation

OT, but I read that as "when Paradox gets back from the Vatican" and it all seemed to make sense. :)

I just found out I may be away at the end of the month, so I would'nt be home to copy and paste codes from the files to upload a bug report.. there for I did one this afternoon. Hopefully you guys will make sure it doesn't get buried before the Devs get a chance to see and fix it.

Here's the bug report link.
