Excuse the thread name, but am I the only one that is bother by the fact that the Egyptians are white? Then I don't refer to Ptolemy or the other Greeks but instead I refer to the genuine Egyptians. Is there anyone that can motivate that they are looking like Europeans when they really shouldn't, which I guess most people are aware of. This is quite frustrating for me since it shatters the illusion of that they really should be Egyptians when they don't have the nearest resemblance to any actual Ancient Egyptian apearance.

Excuse me once more for this harsh criticism but it leads me to my question: Is it possible to change the graphics so that the Egyptian characters will really look Egyptian ? (The buildings already do, which of course is satisfying) I experienced difficulties with these kinds of things in the earlier Paradox games so I'm wondering if it's possible in Rome. I've been looking in the common/culture folder but I didn't find anything related to the character graphics.

And if it is possible, is anyone interested in doing so? And that is of course creating character graphics (i.e. face graphics) that are Egyptian, which means with dark skin and preferably Egyptian ornaments. This might sound a bit lazy that I won't do it myself but I'm not very good at doing things like these. I would appreciate it very much if anyone is willing to voluntare.

Your truely
Our Highness the King of Skåne

The Egyptian nobility was actually quite Greek at the time. Alexandria, the most important city, was founded by Macedonians. Most Egyptian rulers were of Macedonian origin; Even Cleopatra had Greek has her main language.
I don't think there's any screenshot showing this, but the Africa mod (and my Mod collection) changes the portraits of African characters. The women look incredibly ugly but it works fine for male characters.

Heck, I vaguely recall reading at one point that Cleo was one of the only Ptolemaic monarchs who even knew how to speak the native Egyptian. My memory has been known to be faulty, though.

It should be possible to have more "Egyptian" portraits for the characters with the Egyptian culture, while the Hellenic characters keep their Greek portraits. It's just a matter of finding some appropriate ones, since the Persian ones don't really seem Egyptian to me.

That's what the Africa mod does, it mixes parts from the Persian and the default portrait files. Here's a sample:

There are basically only three racial types represented graphically (via portait) in the game:

- Default;
- German; and
- Persian.

For each main culture group, you can mix the three up by modding the portraits.gfx file.

For the Africa Mod, I used a slightly changed Persian to represent most of the african cultures in the mod (Persians without beards). As egypt at the start of the mod you have mostly Greeks with a few native egyptions (with persian looks).

This is different to vanilla where greek and egyptions both use the default racial type.
