Aren’t Italian princes leaving HRE too soon?

Since 1.30 launched, I’ve never had a game where the Emperor had the time to handle the Italian problem. For some reason, most of german princes vote with italian ones for abandoning Italy, freeing them way before 1490. Why are they doing that? They also love to vote for some shitty options like forgetting about Burgundy and so on.

Because it is ai they are dumb. The imperial incidents dont do anything but some cheap immersion, the ai is too dumb to use them aka to threaten the emperor or the fight the peasants (my emperor always goes with appeasment I mean historical it was a bloody massacre and the peasants had little chance). But with Italy it is also that wihtout Italy beeing free the french and spanish would always need to fight the emperor which is not what happend in real life where France hold most of it and then Spain(although they had the title^^).
But yeah the imperial incidents dont do anything as emperor you can ignore them and the ai does the same if your vote is against his.
