If you lokk all the way back to the original thread, plans for an 1860 scenario were in place. Right now we are focusing on the 1820 start date, but as soon as we finish that one, we will probably branch out to 1848,1860, or 1878.

my fear is that they will have too many leaders for us to be able to use them... we have to keep the game balanced, we don't need the USA taking over the WHOLE world... just north america :)

Just to let all you Civil War nuts (like me:D) know we, primarily myself, VcCzar and ofcourse Ramo and LJ are working hard in finishing the leaders for the the USA and CSA. We have it narrowed down pretty much to either 15 or 12 leaders for the U.S. and 10 or 8 leaders for the C.S., not including those already in the game before 1861. Before you get all nervous about all those leaders running around for U.S., remember that the majority of them will only be around for a very short time; and they are going to have thier hands full fighting the Confederacy. In other words, there isn't going to be much time (and interest) for the U.S. to fight elsewhere in the world until the Civil War is over...if there is a U.S. left. Who knows? That's the great thing about this game, its more about changing history than it is simply replaying it. Once the leaders are done I'm going to get right to work on the CSA events. We need all the help we can muster!

Do y9u think that if the CSA won that Maryland,Delware and the other two border states(kentucky and nebreska?) would have joined the CSA?I think there should be events for that because they most likely would have since the US would be defeated and these states obviously wanted to keep their slaves. Also, I think California might have joined the CSA since it was surrounded by them and the CSA and Mexico would have beacame allies and battled Spain for some more territory. But remember this is what I think would have happended:)

I'd say it's very unlikely. If the CSA won, there would be a great deal of compromising going on in the North to keep anyone else from leaving. I also wonder if the CSA would accept the other states, as they probably wouldn't be too keen on creating a reason for another war.

Further, Mexico would be all lovey-dovey to the CSA to the same degree, iirc, as it was to the US at the time; not at all.

I could see CSA having a CB on parts of the Caribbean, and CB shield on the disputed areas...

CSA and USA might have decent relations after the Civil War eventually if CSA won. CSA would be the weaker nation by far unless it did some rapid, -3 stab level, industrialization/emancipation.

California was pretty staunchly pro-union.

Union-Mexico relations = bad
CSA-Mexico relations = good

The CSA was the darling of half of Europe as well.

Anyone know how they are planning to resolve the civil war conflict with no all out annexations? It seems too difficult to represent correctly with either two separate states or as rebels. Perhaps it should just be done as a series of events, depending on how you choose, resulting in a variety of different outcomes? (Such as the creation of the CSA).
