I was doing some reading on the wiki and stumbled across this description.
This led me to believe it was possible for an interregnum to occur as a result of RNG, but in my ~1.5k hours of playtime I have never seen one.
I did some research and came across this thread.

The thread led me to believe that this occurrence was likely due to an event, which is a script as far as I am concerned. Can anyone provide additional data on this?
Code, screenshots, dev statements, etc. are preferred.
Also, since I made this a discussion post, do you think interregnums should be possible/more common in EU4 as a consequence of RNG? Personally, I think it would be a cool third alternative to the "local noble" or "personal union" succession events. Perhaps even a new kind of disaster. Regardless, let me know what you think about this obscure topic.
