Obviously, there are very few women playing Paradox games because of the evils of stereotyping. Any enlightened person knows that their minds are exactly the same as ours, after all. If only we were less misogynist, they would surely be here in equal number. :(

lol, the OP question was, are there any women eu3 players..

Bottom point why women (in general) don't play these kind of games is that they're too preoccupied with their other womanly stuff already, such as shopping or walking around the mall all day long... They enjoy doing that and we enjoy doing this.:D

Are you being serious right now? I probably enjoy going to a mall more than any females my age who I know. And no, I'm not gay.

Congratulations.

Seriously, I love it how genuinely baffled everyone here is that grand strategy games don't attract a substantial female following. Watching them try desperately to figure out why without thinking outside the confines of progressive orthodoxy is hilarious.

Yep, Malls = In and Out (I mean, when I want to buy [this], I go straight to the boutique and buy the stuff and I'm out of the mall). Except when I'm with my girlfriend, she always sees to it that I go with her. I beg to stay in a coffee shop and just wait for her, she never agrees, She Would NEVER agree.

Given that most of the posters here have been making incredibly stupid, sexist remarks that haven't even been common as stereotypes in the past 10-15 years or so, I'm not sure what you mean by "progressive orthodoxy".

Dunno what to tell you. Most of the guys I know are the same as me. Hell, there was a girl I knew in college, when I suggested going to hang out at a mall, she looked at me like "Why would we do that?".

Of course you don't. If you did, you'd already be heading down Dark Path.

14 years olds "hang out" at the mall. That's not quite the same as going shopping.

Haru yo koi.

Zolotoi. Now we have two. At last, the wicked stereotypes can be cast out of our fair land.

Let me count the girls ( I'm 17 ) I saw playing video games.

One who gave me a real good fight in Daytona USA, in the arcade.

Met at least 5 girls in EVE Online.

Theres all the girls who hang out here in the forums, and as some said, not everyone hangs out in the forums, Men or women.

Theres a girl in Battleground Europe ( WWIIOL )

Hm... Thats about it I think.

Theres bound to be more, but I havn't had a good night sleep in 3 days, and its 2 AM here.

Cheers,
Niker

I have plenty of friends who play video games of varying types. I really don't know why so many of you don't know any girls who play games, but I expect it's probably because many of you don't know very many girls. At least, not overly well.

Admittedly, I'm the only girl I know (off-line) that plays any Paradox games, but then again the only guy I know that plays Paradox games is my brother. So, you know, there is that.

But I've played plenty of games with friends. Everything from fighting games to RPG's to sports games to racing games to FPS's.

A lot of female gamers may not advertise the fact that they're female simply because, well... gaming forums are generally full of creepy geeks. I mean just look at this forum. *nods*

The majority of women gamers I know play RPGs or FPS games. I've never met one who likes grand stategy or RTS, but I admit that they most likely exist in big numbers.

since i played world of warcraft for a long time im met a lot girls playing video games. the big problem with computer games is: they are just not attractive to girls. i met my girlfriend in world of warcraft (yes im sure she's a girl, we live together now), and before she played world of warcraft she hateraged about her brother playing computer games. now she is in a raiding guild and plays nearly every evening (there are serveral girls in her guild, at least 10 out of 40 players).

now that shes responsive to computer games i showed up with several titles and she liked most of them (to my big disappointment not euIII). i assume that girls need some kind of a icebreaker to really see into more complexe games but singstar or feed-the-pony.

for most of us guys, computer games are seductive like red bonbons for 5 years old. for girls their not.

Lets face it. Strategy games belong to a niched market that mostly attracts male gamers. The P-Dox forum is a sausage festival. Females are few and rare. :p

Oh yes, because the kind of girls that would be hanging around here are obviously far too good for us. Really, if you think we're on the whole a socially awkward and misfitted lot, just think of where they would be.

Dude, I think you need to calm down a bit. You seem a bit... trigger happy on the anger there. There's no need to insult whole groups of people. And let's face it, no matter what your opinion on the overall topic, she has a point. A lot of the posts here do sound like they come from people who don't spend a lot of time around women. That's hardly an insult, just a guess based on what's been said.

I'm not angry. I just think the notion that any females hanging around here would posses social stature any better than the local average is silly.

I have to say I know girls that play video and PC games, but I haven't seen one playing a grand strategy game (that is until I read this forum).

Lets see, my cousin, who was a writer a gaming magazine; another cousin who mostly played NFS; several friends (girls, but just friends) who were giving me a hard time at CS; I have met girls playing strategy games like Warcraft, Starcraft and Cossacks; I know some girls that played GTA; there are girls on browser games, I played Second-Home, Utopia, Ikariam, Tribalwars, Travian and other and I had encouters with them.

So from this it seems that girls are showing interests in games, but I think a grand strategy game is too much for them (or for more than 99%). No offense, but this is my personal opinion.

You see, my girlfriend gave me a lot of advices reguarding EU, though she doesn't play it. The last one of them is "you can't conquer the world, because you need a very big army, there will always be people that do not like you and will revolt, and you cannot put armies everywhere, because you do not have neither the manpower nor the money to recruit them. So you will be constantly moving your armies from one province to another, in the end you will lose some of your land, because some people that revolted won't admit to be ruled by you anymore." That sounds like a good advice, doesn't it? Also, she explained to me what inflation is. She usually plays Plants vs Zombies. She recently played Vampires-The Masquerade, which she thinks it's a stoopid game. I think women play video games.
