As far as I know, there are no Pirate specific Flashpoints. They appear to only exist for the 5 Inner Sphere major factions at this point.

Agreed.

Though I've enjoyed the lone Random Pirate contract I took against the Taurians, smuggling out a planted agent scientist. Pirates have research scientist/spies? Good to know.

Well that's consistent with everything I know about strategy game barbarians/pirates/space pirates. If Star Wars hadn't been a movie first, it'd have been some pirates building a deathstar and collecting ransom off planets.

Anyone buy admittance to the Black Markets yet?

Is it worth it to pay 2.5m Cbills for access to the Black Markets?

Just curious. Apparently I am “loathed” by Pirates everywhere in my Career Mode Attempt. : )

For what I've seen so far, there are juicy things...but I'm not sure if worth paying 2.5m C-bills... as the prices will be also quite high. I only paid 0.5m (or the amount when you're neutral), and bought at least 3 items...

Have you tried changing system or even faction space? I think the pirate reputation depends on the system, that or I encountered a bug and even doing tons of jobs all around against pirates, there are systems (that I know for sure I didn't visit before) where the pirates do not hate me... That said, I don't know if it's a bug, it works per solar system or per faction space region (i.e. Capellan, Taurian, etc)

That sounds like a bug, because pirate faction rep is universal for all pirates as far as I can see after my first attempted pirate career. You can see here the faction rep after running missions for pirates in Davion and Taurian space (and the negative impacts on Davion and Taurian rep to back that up):

CCDCE9058322E1420E340D00B82CED714E2E62C0

And my new career also seems to back that up, with mostly doing every mission I could as I crossed from Taurian space to Canopian space and watching pirate faction rep go from dislike to indifferent to like to dislike back to indifferent as I did various missions for and against them, regardless of the planet.

Maybe it works different between Career mode and campaign (I'm playing Flashpoint with an old save after finishing the campaign), or maybe it's a bug indeed...

Just loaded my old campaign that I haven't touched since completing the storyline and checked it out now that you mention it's a campaign save, looks like old campaigns aren't tracking rep properly:

F95C6D723159D4C7F966BFC1327A6E911ADB099C

There's no way I should have positive rep with pirates or Taurians after that campaign with how I beat them up repeatedly, all that Davion and Liao rep came at the expense of the Taurians and the campaign naturally should have sapped a bunch of rep from Taurians as well given what you do during the campaign. Nevermind that I have positive rep for Steiner and Kurita when I never did enough missions for them to even get above zero rep.

New campaigns seem fine though:

B1C911CE8A56CC3B0B30DE840C6BBFEBDC2AB5B7

As you can see, this is just through Weldry and the pirates are already hating on me. So looks like something up with the old saves unless somehow completing the campaign gives you rep with everyone (which doesn't make sense because at the very least pirates and Taurians should have a healthy dislike of you).

Rep is not retroactive, meaning that your actions before 1.3 changed rep in the old way (very small changes). But once you keep playing, rep changes are as supposed to be (except maybe pirates, that or I'm not sure or each system/region has its own pirate rep separated from the rest).

Anyway, going back to the OT of pirate flashpoints, the concept of a heist flashpoint is very appealing :) if it's not in the game yet, it can be a nice addition in the future.

Sounds like the manner of challenge that someone in our Modding Community is bound to pick up and make manifest through the FLASHPOINT Editor that Team HBS provided to us in BATTLETECH Free Update 1.3. : )

Pirate FLASHPONTS are just a matter of time in my opinion.

Yeah except they don't beat on other pirates in the employ of a noble house. Plus the whole +15 more rep for Steiner and Kurita versus a new campaign start when I can't recall ever doing missions for them. I would have taken any Steiner contracts I found but not Kurita given I favor Davion, and the only reason I have Liao rep was because I was actively at war with the Taurians and took a few missions with them to punish the Taurians for their war crimes.

I mean logically I can see an in game reason for a boost in rep after you finish the campaign since you did basically restore a noble house against an unlawful and somewhat barbaric usurper, but the rep in that campaign save certainly doesn't reflect the actions I took during the whole campaign without some sort of a rep reward with everyone after you restore Arano.

More pirate missions overall, flashpoints included. One thing I realized is that you cannot play a pure pirate company unless you get really lucky with the mission generator. And RNG just hates my guts, first two attempts at a pirate company play-through went bankrupt for lack of pirate missions in the 1.5 to 2 skull range, third career start I decided to try a normal merc company and now I have TONS of pirate missions appearing of all difficulties. You'd think you'd get more missions as they start to like you rather than dislike you.
