I just realised that the Organians almost sound like a Fallen Empire from Stellaris. For those of you ignorant of who the Organians are, they are a species of non-corporeal aliens who used their tremendous power to enforce peace in the Galaxy of Star Trek. They created a system by which the Klingon Empire and the Federation could non-violently compete for control of worlds. How do we expect a pacifistic fallen empire to react in Stellaris? Can we expect them to get angry with war mongering nations? Perhaps they will join wars and destroy both sides?

I thought there were only 4 Fallen Empire types and two of them are spiritualist/materialist and the other two are Xenophile/Xenophobe. Did I get those last two wrong?

You did not. As of right now it has been stated there are no individual/collective or pacifist/militaristic Fallen Empires. That may have changed since our last update on this (the FE dev diary), but as far as we know they don't exist yet.

Do we already know, what pisses the Fallen Empires off? In the Blorg stream we have seen the ones that kill you if you use sentient robots and the ones that kill you if you colonize their holy worlds.
In fact is there an in-game way of seeing what they don't want you to do? It didn't seem like it in the Blorg stream at least.

I'm not sure on xenophilic ones, but xenophobic empires will get rather.... cross, should you share too much or a border with them.

And just going by the fact that Materialist Fallen Empires will give you a warning should you be researching something they would rather you not, I'd imagine that the other Fallen Empires would give similar warnings.

Xenophobe ones really, REALLY want to be left alone, so I'd guess that sending ships into their space or even sharing a large border with them would be considered provocation. Xenophile... no clue.

And, IIRC, the Keepers of Knowledge are more about dangerous tech in general than AI specifically.

Xenophiles are probably triggered by purging or enslaving.

A nice sentiment, but there are no pacifist fallen empires. There's 4 kinds, atleast at launch and without any modding. Fanatic spiritualists, materialists, xenophobic and xenophillies.

Since Fallen Empires are at first no longer expanding, I'd think a militaristic fallen empire might be trapped in a cold war with its own people. Two factions via for control, stagnating what was once a united giant space empire. If one faction someday becomes dominant, they might re-awaken again as a united and militaristic empire.

For reference:

The Organians are probably more advanced beyond the fallen empires... the Organians don't seem to need ships or tachyon beams, and an Organian can be on at least three worlds at once (one of them said as much in that episode.) The late game crisis of the Unbidden, who I think are energy beings, might be akin to an evil version of the Organians. Which makes me think -- another possible late game crisis flying in the face of what we normally think of as a galactic threat -- energy beings showing up and forcing everyone to get along. How many of us plan on playing militaristic empires, who would be terrified at the thought of interdimensional energy beings taking the side of the underdogs and thwarting our friendly little wars? ;)

My culinary instincts have been activated. These Organian type creatures must be converted back to its corporeal form and cooked for test tasting. it will be glorious

Might they be black on one side and white on the other? Fighting with the subspecies that is white on one side and black on the other?

I so want this end game crisis.

I would so love a peaceful end game crisis. "The galaxy will federate or we will crush every last one of you." Says peaceful interdimensional beings.

The greatness of the Stellaris design is that you can find/model almost every sci-fi situation or species.
Well, at the moment we haven't a fanatically pacifist FE, but it may be added in the future (or just modded by yourself) .
And yes, a fanatically pacifist FE is a good way to add Organians in the game. (Another think to do in my wannabe Star Trek mod... )

The Organians are so much more powerful than the fallen empires that it'd be an iffy fix at best. Vorlons from Babylon 5 would be a good fit for a fallen empire.

Probably won't be there at launch, but Wiz and a few others have stated they'd like to make Fallen Empires a bit more interactive than 'avoid them, except if you want to steal their tech'.
