Are the initial details (name and colour and house etc) permanent?

You can not change your background (where you came from, why you left, what you did after leaving,...)

You can not change your background (where you came from, why you left, what you did after leaving,...)

Please note, the ancestry has little bearing on the game aside from dialogue options at times, "why you left" may be touched upon by an event a short while into the game... and what you did after leaving I think similarly does have something? Been a while.

After those events, the only effect the latter two have are in your base statistics. Which won't matter once you start spending XP on skill points.

Crest, insignia, emblem, they all mean close enough to the same thing in English that they all work. Emblem is probably the closest, but they all work.

As opposed to "livery" which is more about a type of uniform. :)

... I've had to look it up in the past reading sci-fi fiction with a military in it.
