I've seen this gameplay
and I think the speed of construction of buildings is too fast.
I prefer a slower construction, as in Tropico saga or in the last SimCity (with the cement mixer lorry arriving and the construction process too slow)

What do you think?

I agree. I'd like to see a bit more detail to the construction process (kind of like Banished, for anyone who's played that), within reason of course. Some people just want to get their cities up ASAP, and I wouldn't want to wait around forever either. Abstraction is fine, I'd relish some extra little details. They basically look just like the buildings in the most recent SimCity iteration, rising out of the ground with some scaffolding. Which isn't a bad thing! It still looks good. I just always loved in SC4 how whenever you built or worked on the road network, the little construction crews would come along and actually build the road. It'd be neat to see something similar in this game, eventually. Just my opinion, of course. Detailed construction probably won't be everyone's cup of tea.

I do like it more slow.

I would like to see the following:
- Construction Trucks come in and build the house
- Slower Construction time. Remember takes half year to a year to build some homes. I say year because they tend to build the shells and the walls etc in the Summer and the interior in the winter.
- Real Estate Signs.
- Home Owners move in with a van.

For more depth I would love to see home owners visit the house first like open house.

But even all these ideas and suggestions. Please note right now 1.0 is about the core game. To get the engine up and working and make sure simulation is going well. Then overtime their going patch and add new features. This is their way with a lot of their games. Consider is more like a polished Early Access game.

They totally are! I feel like the flow with this game is so fast. Like, you can probably sculpt out whatever kind of city you want rather quickly, no? In sim city 4, you had to develop into a metropolis. It took a long time for buildings to grow and zone up $$$$. Will this be the case in this game?

Agreed. They're great ideas that I really do want to see implemented once the game's released.

I watched the video as well and thought it was tooo fast the way the buildings grew (erm built)
One easy way to slow that down, is to slow down the speed of the game, I was watching the days/months tick past and thought that is WAY to fast (even on normal mode)
Apart from that and the attitude of the you tuber, I thought the video was great, and has confirmed my pre-order was a right decision :)

I agree, should be slower, contruction should take longer. Sometimes I wonder why city builders don't have construction time for roads and such as well.

That was a nice feature in SC2013, hundreds of people to make a house being build. I think you guys dont get that this was a 12 people team and they had features that were more important than a woman selling a house with cookies in her hand.

Becuase like i said i bet you guys would only watch houses being build in the first 5~10 min of gameplay then you wouldnt even care about that. Or you watch every house being build everytime in SC2013? So why waste processing time to something so useless like that? lol

Its like wanting to see the grass growing in the map and deers making babies, its cool but after sometime you wouldnt give a damn about that.

Why waist processing power on any useless graphical effects? why not just have blank blocks for buildings? why complain about glass being shiny when it is useless and wont matter?

i guess you can always throw any idea out and blame it on saving processing power and its a 12 man team.

why not just have blank blocks for buildings?

Thats a nice feature! I think they should have done that.

I agree with the glass, its something that you'll see everytime you zoom in to take a pic. But the construction team is just useless. And well this wasnt the only idea on the forum, most of them i gave my support but this is just (REALLY) useless.

Again like i said why add a feature that you would only see for sometime? Unless you have a fetish on construction workers you would forget about that in a blink of an eye.

And dont get me wrong that is a nice feature, but with so many things missing (weather/day-night/trams/tunnels) i think there are more important things than construction workers. Maybe in the sequel we'll get something more realistic, who knows.
