England -> Great Britain -> Thirteen colonies -> Declare Independence -> USA would probably be the best option.

However, many events are tied to years on the historical timeline, so when not played from the bookmark, it works best if the independence is somewhat "on schedule". Similarly, because the events are heavily tied to historical situations, they have the premise that Great Britain is the former overlord nation, so you would want to form Great Britain first.

I had gotten an event creating USA cores in my Aztec provinces in North America, as well as in the provinces of my totemist Cherokee vassal. Is this really WAD?...

No, will be fixed.

So honestly, we are still suffering through the bugs of your FIRST dlc? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Its what so many of us have come to expect from Pdox. Wiz is the only dev that actually seems to care...or act/reply in a timely fashion.

American Dream was not designed to work with Conquest of Paradise because Conquest of Paradise did not exist at the time. The bugs stem from a free update to said DLC to expand American Dream's functionality so that it can take advantage of CoP and failing to predict a particular rare scenario. Would you have preferred we didn't make this update?

Also, just because the other devs don't post as much on the forum doesn't mean they care any less than I do.

I would have preferred you had set out a "ground plan" for the game that did not include DLCs that cannot interact with each other. Just imo.

EDIT: Just purchased American Dream DLC. Want to see if it works for me, then I'll get CoP. I'm fair; I'll take your word for it.

American Dream was designed and marketed as a DLC that expands on the 1776 start date and the historical American War of Independence. Later the ability to form the US as Thirteen Colonies was added in CoP and people wanted American Dream to work with a non-historical American War of Independence. Integrating the two so that the events work ahistorically was something we did for free because you guys wanted it. When you're integrating two things that were never really meant to work together you sometimes create bugs. I think it's just a little bit unreasonable to then point to this as evidence of American Dream being bug-ridden.
