Once you post on it it becomes one of your "subscribed threads" which you can access through your user CP. If you keep the useless threads weeded out of your list (which I haven't done in a while) then you can find teh kool stuff pretty fast.
If you're really into a thread (like an AAR or something), just put the link in your sig.

Re: the STRAT thread... my initial ambition to use a STRAT strategy with the USSR was over-ruled by democratic process (I was out-voted), and I used the UK instead... but near the end of the thread I started a new game as the USSR and built 30-odd STRATs and a similar number of Fighters. It worked really well; just about as well as the usual Russian Infantry zerg-rush does.
SoulStealer said:The only time I've played a democracy is the time I played the US specifically to watch 100% dissent result in the country being torn apart, a totalitarian Europe's wet dream.
I wanted to see exactly what happened when the game simulated revolutions apart from the Spanish Civil War and such. It was some time ago and rather enlightening. Instead of the entire government being overthrown, it was torn apart piecemeal. Which is precisely why submarines can make for a very effective strategy....Bullfrog said:sounds fun

I played this game and it's now '41 and i've launched operation Sealion after getting BP. I've also taken india and am pushing very close to south africa. There is no nation not in the axis left in the world except the USSR and the south American nations. It's actually been a pretty boring game. Except me having to beat the soviets with 20 panzer divisions but only 9 infantry.
Worked down to advancing 2 provinces with my armor, letting the russians come damn close to berlin and then closing the gates behind them. Pretty risky but that's why generals have save games.
England had about 50 transports left, which didn't run because they weren't enough for the one route they apparently really wanted to take. Things did take an ugly turn when the US decided to join, i moved all my subs way south but still lost about 20 (i have 80 left so who cares).
The only shame really is that my progress was so fast i didn't really get to enjoy the benefits of starving English troops.
Now i'm left with 80 submarines and nothing to do.
I doubt it worked - at least I cannot remember those little ASW task forces detecting my subs without aid.G'Kar said:One question: How much does the bugged ASW mission - it never finds anything according to Gormadoc - figure into the effectiveness of subs? Or did it work back in DD 1.2?
