Are Russian Women Drag Queens?

Am I the only one that think that all of the portrait packs looks much better than the vanilla faces?

I thought the Mongol one was pretty good and on par more or less with the vanilla faces. The African one I think wasn't quite as good as the vanilla or mongol portraits and could have been better (the faces are a bit too smooth in my opinion), but otherwise is pretty nice. I won't get the Russian one until a day or two, so I don't know about that.

Russian women look good with the new DLC. bit strange though when a woman has the ugly trait but her picture is like really hot.

I don't think the portraits are bad. The male ones are actually quite good. The females are all masculine however - ranging from only slightly to very masculine. I have no problem with some male-looking females, but there should also be ones that look feminine.

I'm glad every character doesn't look like a supermodel in CK2 - adds to the game for me. Appearance is actually something I look for in a potential bride - along with stats, traits and alliances.

As for the DLC, I haven't played it a lot yet but from what I've seen so far it looks great.

Yes, the artists changed. It's not Danevang any more. I remember one of the artists mentioned it around the time of the African Portraits Pack release. Maybe they haven't mastered the same technique as the original yet...

Some might also notice, for instance, that the portrait DLCs don't differentiate between young and middle aged characters in some cases, and this I think gives more evidence that the artists working on the portrait DLCs have less time and resources at their disposal.

Er, hope you're wrong there - that would be pretty bad.

I think that the stereotype is that young Russian women are hot. I have met some Russian babushkas who look more like lorry drivers than hot.

The men are great, but the Russian women in the portrait pack really have very male jaw lines. The wife of your deceased king Vladimir I looks 100% like a man with make-up, as do the daughters of your king Vsevolod.

Yeah they do actually. My daughter (who eventually became Byzantine Empress) was very pretty especially with the crown she had for Byzantine. I will post it but her mother was not Russian.

Those russian ladies have indeed a tendency to look masculine, especially when their hair is obscured. They look pretty realistic though, compared to the standard portraits.

I'm more creeped out that the guy married to Russian Bride No. 3 in those screenshots looks like a Tolkien Elf. With a mustache.

Check if his name is something like Glorfindel Rurikovich.

Edit: Having looked over the other screenshots, don't most of the Russian men -- soft features, pointed ears, and golden headbands -- look like Tolkien elves?

And the children portrait really does look like Monkey Jesus!

I think the Russian portraits look 10x more realistic than the other portraits, and this is great in my opinion!

The portraits are realistic, especially the clothes if i'm right. However women could certainly be better. Maybe it's because most of us here are males and don't understand the more detailed aspects of women. They certainly look strange though

Go on the streets, shopping centers, hang out places in general in Germany or UK & then go in Russia. It will blow your mind away.
