Mate, plenty of people kick up a royal stink about the Iberian Wedding and the Polish succession, too.

Since Ottomans can choose an heir there is even a bigger chance of this happening. The issue here is that they keep pumping the development of provinces so they embrace the renaissance very quickly. They never fall behind. In all my games they were ahead of France in both tech and ideas. That's the issue with Ottomans. A player doesn't need them so strong to rule the world anyway, you can do this with an opm yourself. But the AI has gotten way too brutal as Ottomans. No other AI country comes close to this without the player intervening in wars and so on.

Is that capability with the new DLC the rights of man? I'm behind on my DLC: I only buy when they are 50% off, so I just got the last batch of them bringing me to have all except for the latest. :)

My beef with the Ottos is not that they are too strong in the first 200 years, but that the game does not simulate how New World gold destabilised their economy after 1560 or so and that they are a little too strong in the last 100 years, if they can keep up technologically. But, honestly, it's not as if I've run a thousand hands-off games.

Well, the game does not simulate how New World gold (or whatever else caused the Price Revolution) destabilized everyone's economy after 1560 or so :p

I've just deleted my Wallachia game as pointless. Everything had gone to plan . I'd allied Hungary and Russia with a Poland/Lithuania guarantee. I struggled on to 1600 by which time the Ottos had 200k men with top tech and marched about in 35k stacks, even all three allies including my meagre 15k could do nothing.
