Are notable cities marked on the map?

Hello! Apart from provincial capitals, are notable cities marked on the map? This would, among other things as immersement and fun fact, be neat for strategic reasons, as communicating with fellow players on objectives.

I remember playing HoI3 and really enjoying seeing cities as Dover, Leeds, Middlesborough, Northhampton, Portsmouth, (and pretty much all other names from the top three football divisions in the UK) on the map, when playing as the UK, or when invading them.

Is it so that just provincial capitals will have name on map?

Yes, they are. Important cities are marked with a dot on the map and with their name if you zoom in far enough. They're even more important as in Hoi3 because they are not only victory points, but because they create supply now as well. So holding out in a major city becomes both more viable and important.
