That's kind of how I feel. Especially since EU: Rome is not the same game engine as Total War, nor is it in the same genre.
I have great respect for the modding community here at the Paradox forums. They have done some pretty cool things, and the Developers are clever enough to encourage such things by crafting games that can be modded easily with text editors and a whole slew of variables that are in simple, easy to find places (EU3 was really a marvel in this respect). And if this
thread is any indication, the modding community will not only have even more tools at their disposal to do great things, but they will also have Paradox's blessing and even generate some revenue for their hard work.
I just think it's a bit strange to plan mods for a game you haven't even seen in a demo, let alone played the stand alone product. Trust me, the beta AARs are cool, but they haven't shown a fraction of the game's mechanics, so don't spend too much time planning mods based on what you read.
