Ruining every campaign I play. Just took a hostage. Succeeded and the hostage is in my court and it says Nanbu have Hostage from Kasai, and Kasai given hostage to Nanbu, but one of my ninja were discovered...

Then a day or two later two triggers occur. First loses me 4 honor and appears as an on screen message, that is ok as one of the ninja were captured during the mission.

Then another high priority message appears saying a ninja clan attacked me and took the hostage I just took hostage again and she is back in their court. "Kasai has given hostage to ---" appears in their provinces. They didn't have time to recruit ninja, target and complete the mission in a day.

This double trigger keeps happening and ruining my campaigns. I have posted about it in the bug forum has no else encountered this or something...? Effectively the ninja clan attack twice - first time taking hostage or rescuing hostage to your court then 2 days later the attack the same hostage in your court and you get the attacked message as a result... it can result in the hostage being returned to where you just took them from or the second attack ON YOU fails and YOU lose honor because you discovered it (this drove me mad when this happened)!

Extra note: I think its also causing this strange negotiation rights message as this is second time it has appeared after one of these ninja double attacks:

And how good are Paradox for patches? Do they generally fix bugs and broken things quickly?

This is the first game I've bought from them in a while (since Rome). I know the mechanics are complicated, lots of stats, lots of scripting and I like the game generally, but many things are not working properly or are just plain broken. People keep saying its the most polished game they have ever done but basic mechanics that need fixing like empty courts, primary spouse, trigger and event errors, high honor big blobs etc are kinda ruining the game for me.

We all try to read the forum and if we find a bug such as this we try to solve it. It would help us greatly if you could provide us with a save game some time before this happened and maybe when it has happened.

EDIT: Also, if you know how to reproduce it and are able to reproduce it, please write down the steps so we can try it.

I have noticed receiving two messages in quick succession regarding ninja missions which have targetted me. Sometimes the second notice says the ninjas were hired by "no character"

And how good are Paradox for patches? Do they generally fix bugs and broken things quickly?

Seems to depend on title. IIRC, they only have so many patch teams working on a couple of their games at any one time. So if things proceed as they normally do, we'll see some initial patching and additions to the game, then there'll be a dead period with no activity, and then they'll come back and give it another once over in the future. They might also release and add-on with new features if the game garnered enough interest.

I gotta say that this one is in better condition than most are on release, though. So it will probably be a faster process with patching this one up, and adding new stuff. One good thing about Paradox' updates is that they'll regularly release beta updates so you're not left hanging for a long period while they're working on one. They let everyone who has registered their game download a fairly recent version of the patch they're working on, so you can still use test versions before a patch's official release.

However it should be remembered that beta patches are just betas and might contain their own bugs and problems, so when loading one you're doing it at your own risk, as every change is not guaranteed to work yet.

Save game

It was difficult to get a save game before it happens because it doesn't always occur. Here is an example of the double ninja mission.

I have just taken a Kasai family member hostage, he was Kasai's heir and my target for a ninja "Take Hostage" mission. I am playing as the nanbu. Load game, advance one day and you should get the second erroneous ninja attack. I think it is by the same clan I hired, but they now attack my clan but the target is still Kasai's heir (the same target), who is now in my court. Whether any other events are triggered I don't know. I didn't advance past the second attack, but you'll see what I mean... If they are successful I think he goes back to Kasai, if they are unsuccessful it can trigger events that lose honour.

I've noticed this too, though it didn't occur to me at the time that it was due to being a faction leader, or even that I was a faction leader.
But afaik I've been the Buddhist faction leader for quite some time in my most recent game, even if I didn't notice it for a while, and I remember being intensely frustrated by constant ninja attacks.

I have noticed receiving two messages in quick succession regarding ninja missions which have targetted me. Sometimes the second notice says the ninjas were hired by "no character"
I also get this all the time.

Could the doubled-up ninja attacks be related to faction leadership?
