Yeah I agree with you on that one. I think his books are perfect for learning about the army during the EU-era.

Feb 24th, I was at the docks the other day and there was a mass of merchants and tradesmen, even some soldiers milling about talking over something. When i ventured over to take a looksee they were talking about this new Admiral who had been given control of the Kings fleet. His name was BAgge. My god i thought to myself, that was my old captain way back in the 1490s when i served in the navy. I could not believe it, the old man seemed to impress more than just myself over the years. He was a man who rightly deserved the position in my opinion.
Mar 12th Just days after King Stensture gave Admiral Bagge the fleet, the great christian king died. This was terrible because there was news that the Pope was calling for a Crusade against the muslims of which king stensture wanted to take part in. Our new king christian II however was not so ready to send his people with the catholics to fight the muslims. I almost have enough saved up from my trade business that i could maybe take a trip to Rome after this Crusade is over with. I pray for the chance.
Dec 25th Tonight we celebrated the birth of christ, we had good food and drink and many a friend over to join in the festivities. We sang and danced in day and had worship at the chapel in night. romela is becoming a fine musician. Even Ingrid is taking her frustrations out by playing great music in the church. Svante is 8 now and he is a spitting image of his brother Johan, oooh if only i knew how johan was now that he was off fighting in the Popes and kings crusade against the turks. I pray he comes home soon.
At least the news of the Crusade was good. The Pope had rallied many christian nations to the cause, FRance, Sweden, SAvoy, Navarra, Brittany, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Bohemia, Bavaria, Hannover, Moldavia, Venice, Scotland, Kazan all were taking part in the war against the Muslim Turks who had soldiers so close to Rome.
Rumors that Turkey had annexed Moldavia were depressing but then Persia invaded east turkey and then Hungary took Pest from Turkey in a peace deal. Before the Crusade is over the christians should have tore apart them muslim heathens.

Geez i didnt notice this update till now, this is interesting to read because of the story told from a normal guy, neat way of looking at it and maybe you live life in EU game through eyes of a peasant?
