Andalusian Exodus
"When the lands of Islam are taken, the Muslims must immigrate to muslim held terrirtory, this is an obligation until the day of Judgement" Words of Avverose, in the days of the Almohads.
Some shieks of the Almohad Empire claimed that the Abbasid Caliphate was
supporting the christians secretly. The Egyptians rebuffed these allegations
after mild revolts in Cairo by Sunhia extremists. The Egyptians however, think they have found a way to solve the problem of Al-Andalus completely, and at the same time, striking a political blow at their enemies, the Almohads. The Castillians are in a poor financial situation, and the Egyptians proposed giving the Castillians a ransom of 200 thousand dinars, in exchange for giving the moors safe passage to Egypt only. When the Abbasids paid the ‘ransom’, a call was heard throughout the former lands of Al-Andalus. Exhausted rebels, and muslim refugees fled the cities of Spain. From Toldeo, 6 thousand took leave, in Valancia, over 7000 thousand and counting, in Grenada, the city was completely depopulated and in Seville the muslims left in large droves.
After the failed rebellion, it seemed that the Andalusians had little choice
but to leave for Egypt. There was no hope in the lands of their ancestors,
and they would surely be slaughtered by angry christians afterwards. Egyptian
ships had already docked in Malaga, Gibraltar, and Murcis to hail the refugees. In Spain the church might even approve, also the Christians of Northen Spain, for now their lands were pure from the moorish taint.
The Andalusians had enough of the inquisition, the taxation, and the oppression, and to Egypt they sail!
TABLE:
1. The Egyptians whose tax money is being spent upon this affair smell a rat. This is just a cheap way of shovelling cash into the Christians’ hands and counter-balancing the Abbasid Caliphate’s foes, the Zayyanids. And to think they now have to put aside quality acreage to house the refugees too? Another outrage! The Egyptians will not take this abuse for much longer.

3. The political motives of the Abbasid Caliphate go above the heads of the common folks of Egypt. However, the masses of asylum seekers flooding into Egypt are all but unavoidable. 5. The move causes a lot of talk, but on balance, the voices of those who welcome the Andalusians counter-balance those who do not.
(no effect.)
6. The good will felt by a Muslim for his fellow comes into play; the Andalusians are welcomed like brothers in Egypt.

Following the signing of the Portuguese agression treaty, the Moors of Andalusia knew that the Mamalukes had forsaken their Islamic bretheren, in favor of crusader allies. As word spread that the Abbasids now intended to give the Castelleons huge sums of cash to pursue their war against Islam, the Moors knew that the Mamalukes sought to buy them into servitude and slavery. They only had one choice, in light of no Caliph being yet elected to protect them from the Castelleons and Mamlukes.
They had to intercept and halt whatever aid the Mamlukes would send their enemies. They controlled most of the ports, and while their Almohad patrons had sunk the Castelleon fleet and guarded the straights, their own naval ability amounted to a handful of smaller sloops and dhows, and mercantile vessels. There was still the Castelleon held port of Murcia available, and they knew they needed help. They sent to the Almohad Emperor a notice and plea of what was to occur, and Akbe Mohammed responded by detaching the Algerian fleet from the combined Almohad fleet and attaching it to the command of the ragtag Moorish naval command. The Algerian fleet was full of experienced corsairs and naval commanders to help organize the Moors and reconfigure their naval presence to a more proper form.
As the Moorish Captains set their sights on the sea route, Moorish forces combed the ports by land, and as the heavily laden Mamaluke ships began to arrive they were impounded in port. The Almohad bolstered Granadan fleet hoped it would be able to guard the few ports still held by the Castelleons. "If Allah wills it, this cash will pay for Tunisian war materials!"

1. The pirates break the most important rule in the trade and attack a vastly stronger fleet. More guns are brought to bear on them than they can return fire with. This sorry tale has a foregone conclusion from the beginning. Those pirate ships that aren't captured go down with all hands.

This is a contentious event by its very nature. Ensure that the presumably inevitable complaints are furthered to the proper moderators via PM.
It has been determined that the Algierians were able, within reason, to learn of the movement of monies before the action was taken. This is not open to discussion, and is subject only to Bz’s discretion.
