A young man, shortly out of his teens walks into the regal palace chambers. Dressed in the finest cloths that Europe can provide he has a fat ruby on each of his index fingers, obviously the son of a powerful noble by the looks. As he notices the gathered Lords and Ladies looking at him, a small smile appears at the corners of his mouth, as if they are gathered here for him. Although upon noticing the figure at the end of the chamber staring towards him, a slight blush comes to his cheeks and he absently rubs his hands, before hurrying to the throne. When he reaches the end of the dais he makes a very low dramatic bow, that looks well rehearsed as if in front of a mirror. Upon straightening up once more he begins to speak in a crisp voice that still carries a hint of boyish squeak to it.

"I bring tidings from King Philippe-Xavier d'Beaumont of Navarra to the Great King of Portugal."

Stopping to take a breath he continues on in a more subdued voice.

"Your Majesty,
It was with great pleasure that my King received the letter from you. He says that he is more then glad to exchange ambassadors with you and that I, Lord Armando Cordairo, third son of Duke Fernando Cordiaro, am to act as his representative to your realm. My King hopes that this is the start of a great friendship between our two realms and hopes that together we may bring even greater glory and prosperity to the Iberian people. I hope that Your Majesty meets with approval towards my appointment here. Also I beg that Your Majesty grace My Kings realm with an ambassador of your owns.”

With that Lord Cordairo bows low once again and steps back into the gathering of nobles.

Murad nods to the King. "Everything looks in order ... Ishak!"

The Second Vizier walks up to the Sultan. "Please put this in an appropriate form, with all relevant legalities and honorifics..." He waves his hand vaguely. The Second Vizier bows.

"While we wait," Murad asked, "would you care to try some of this? It is called coffee, a traditional Arabian drink..."

D. Affonso IV do Reino real de Portugal rises up, and bows to the Sultan. A big grin is upon his unshaven face. He takes a sip of thise coffee and is very happy.

Your majesty, good morning to you. I knew you were better at this then me. Please, allow us to end this once and for all. I have many pressing matters in Lisboa to attend, as my finacee. Haha! We are to be wed! Well back to business excuse me.

He fetches his page to get him his pen.

Aha....there we go. It is my and Portugal's pleasure. My merchants and people will be most pleased. I will not leave immediately despite my fiancee's desire. As I believe I have a bit of cleaning up to do. The Chivalry and Honor of Portugal is true and pure. We shall not leave until we have cleaned up the mess we created. Please, you are welcomed here as my guest, as I hope I am welcomed as well. Haha! Enjoy yourself my friend. I am off to aid my men.

He puts on his cap, and stands, with a most cheery and warming desposition upon his brow. He takes the Sultan's hand very firmly, and shakes it. He pats him on the back, and as he is leaving salutes him. He hops on his horse, and him and his page ride off to aid the men at the docks and city.

In Dongola, Northern Nubia

In the muslim city of Dongola, Prince Hasan ibn Saud reviewed the letter.

"Prestor John?

Who in Allah's name could that be? And what is Portugal?

I recall some visitors from Genua or was it Gunae? Nothing much resulted of that visit due to tensions with the Sultan. They must be more christians.

Oh well, the King should be delighted to see them, even if their presence here shall make my skin cringe. I will map them a route to avoid going through my lands.

Send word to Alexandria passage is given."

D. Affonso arrives home at Lisboa after an exhausting crusade, and an exhausting inqusition from his holiness. He comes home as a hero. His armies march off the boats in glory, holding high their golden treatures, they looted from Constantinople. Women lift their dresses in the happiness of recieving their husbands. The King was well recieved from his own family, and countless other bittering nobles in Portugal. In Portugal the word is everywhere of this great victory, as well as the King's honorable performence before his inquistion of the Constantinople affair before his holiness. The King has trully shown the highest valor and honor, for he holds true and close the Portuguese people, and piety.

At Cape Bogordur...

The vessels of Portugal led by Sir Alvaro Porto reach the southern mouth of the Canaries. They bounch around on the cape in again, fear. Sailors jump overboard at the thought of going over the edge of the World. The Captain held the crew steady however. The seas were not with them though. A sweeping wind from the Coasts of Africa and the Saharah was just too devastating. The waves were turbulent scorns of hell. The skies darkened with fury and blaze. It soon began to pour seemingly never ending tears from the peircing grey clouds. The water was discolored. It was no longer water, but a sea of white waves! Men became more dismembered, and frightful. They jumped over board, killed each other, and simply went insane. Alvaro's ship was lost, and now the crew was without a leader. This stirred up more chaos. The sitiuations seemed to be God's sign to turn back, but how could they? They don't even know where they are anymore! 13 out of 15 ships were lost. Only 2 emerged in the light of the following morn. With only 23 out of the once 250 men, they travelled to the Canaries...and will have to see how they could possibly get to Sagres...

Princess Isabella runs into the arms of her returning hero, the King of all Portugal, and mastre de Avis, Affonso. She weeps in his arms, out of joy. He rests hands his sword to his page. The he takes her hand, and kisses it. She wispers unto him:

I wish to marry you tonight dear, never again I wish to depart from you in uncertainty. Please, let us marry at Sao Jorge tonight.

Affonso looks upon her peaceful and content face, he tries and utter words, but then, grasped by her beauty and innocence, he is weak. He simply smiles and nods his head.

She then gasps and pulls on his arms. Agreeing with her pulling, he follows, and together they rush to Sao Jorge Cathedral, of course, with thousands of cheering and extrememly happy and energized people.

A week later:

Sir Gil de Eannes returns to Sagres, waiting the scold from their Prince. Prince Henrique presents himself unto the ashamed group:

I know of your reason here. I know of your failures...however, they are not failures, they are misintrepations. Let us put this aside us, as a mistake on the Pope's part, and continue in search of Prestor John, hm?

Relieved Gil and his crew agree.

As the Duke of Douro was addressing the Doge and his advisors, Vedramino gives a slight nod to guards stationed at the Dukes Flanks. He, almost politely allows the Duke to finish his rant before the guards apprehend and chain the man.

The shocked Duke begins to yell in Indignation before being cut off by the Doge.

My Good Duke, you have spoken your last words in my Palazzo for quite some time. Your people have shown themselves to be a a treacherous breed of heathen collaborating mercenaries. Who would betray the Pope himself to satisfy their own selfish needs.

Relay those sentiments to your " King".

The Duke is allowed to send of a scroll before being thrown in the Dungeon with the common thieves of Venice.
