The King greets the Scottish ambassador, and looks intrigued by the possibility...

"You may not know this, sir, but I was set to marry a relative of the Grandmaster of the Teutonic Order... until he was assassinated... anyway, I thought you might wonder why I had not yet married. But I have gotten over my loss, hard though it was, and I would like to meet this sister. What is her name?"

The Scottish Ambassador smiles broadly and speaks:


"My King has 7 sisters which can be your Queen. Isabelle is a girl who loves the outdoors. Jean is a very pious girl who is very devoted to the church, Elizabeth is a very smart girl who loves to read, Mary is a girl who loves to cook and take care of the household and will make a very good mother, Abigail loves to sing and is known for her remarkable voice, Margaret loves to do needlework and is very interested in helping those less fortunate, and Marjorie is known for her love of travel and her knowledge of history and the ways of the Scottish highlands. These are the remaining sisters of the King who can be married. What type of wife are you looking for good King. The Stuart Royal Princesses have very different personalities we are sure you will find a worthy Queen for Denmark and yourself. All are known for their great beauty and my King is very very pleased to hear of your interests."

 

[Sharur]

"Well... I hate having to make such a choice, but if I must, I think that I would make Mary my wife. A good mother for my children is what I desire more than anything. Perhaps we could arrange a meeting for the two of us?"

"Good King then Mary it shall be. I have a picture of her right here good King. Also my King said that whoever you wish to make your wife she will come to see you. As i speak she is on a boat with a gaurdian to see you and to see if she will make a great Queen for Denmark.

Swen Ageirson enters the royal chamber.

"Your Majesty,

I recieved a word from my overlord. Now, when the plague ended Hansa's and WHU's negotiators will soon arrive in Kopenhagen and will be happy to sign a proper trade agreement with Danemark. We pray they this will be a milestone in relations between our merchants and realms.

As to current matters and your matrimonial plans I wish to ask you if you really need to seek wife in far Avalon isles? Why not to look between Baltic states? Perhaps this could tighten our bonds of friendship? As far as I know youngest sister of Joachim of the Greif is unmarried, maybe you should expand your interest on her? This is, of course, just a remark of friendly diplomat."

The King smiles at the Pommeranian.

"That is good news indeed! As you know, I always strive to strengthen ties between the nations of the Baltic.

As for your question about wives... well, simply put, he approached me first, and I see no reason to slight the Scots, who I have great respect for. Perhaps a marriage of cousins could be arranged between our houses?

As the King of Denmark speaks to the messenger from Pommern great bagpipe notes fill the air. It is the Scottish Princess Mary Stuart who has come from Scotland to see if she is worth enough to take the hand of the King of Denmark and be the Queen of the Danes. In walks a very pretty woman who along with the Ambassador from Scotland bows before the King. Princess Mary speaks:



"Good King of Denmark I am here to see if I am worthy enough to be the Queen of the Danes. I promise you that if you accept my hand in marriage I will serve you and your nation to the fullest to produce many children for you and the nation of Denmark From what you see and have heard am I worthy to be the Queen of Denmark, and most importantly your wife?"


With that Princess Mary bows again and awaits the response of the King.

 

[Longinus]

Swen looks disappointed.

"Ahhh yesss, Your words are wise... again. Hmm... marriage of cousins should be err... enough. It is all my fault since I wanted to approach you earlier.. err but is doesn't matter right now of course. How unfortunate. So marriage of cousins you say? Yes Joahim of the Greif has plenty of them, unfortunately he has only one sister that is not promised to anybody. Perhaps, Poli.. rrr Oh, and how are the things in the Golden Horde err.. I meant Sweden."

 

[Longinus]

Swen enters the Royal Chamber once again.

"Your Royal Majesty,

I beg you for a punishment since I was trying to marry you with your own family and blood. I am sure it was amuseing for you seeing my pityful attempts to close our realms by bounds of blood. My only excuse is that I am native Dane settled in Pomerania and that is why Joachim of the Greif choosed me to serve in your court. Although I an rather a warrior not a diplomat I agreed in order to serve him with all my might.

However, how may I try to marry a cousin with a cousin? You are already a part of the Pomeranian family and true Greif. Please punish me for my incompetence."

 

[Sharur]

The King smiled kindly at the diplomat.

"Yes, well, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to embarrass you by saying that here, but now that you bring it up, you see my reasons. But I certainly will not punish you for it, as it would be... undiplomatic of me, I think. I have good relations with the Greif, and I would like to keep it that way. Let us forget that you ever brought it up, shall we?"

 

[Sharur]

The King turns to the Queen, and whispers a quick apology for the diplomat's interruption.

"Your Majesty,

It is with great joy that I announce that I have finally found a wife! Let the bonds of friendship be forever forged between Denmark and Scotland with this marriage between the Pomeranian and Stuart houses. 'This is the day that the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!'"

With that, the King takes the Princess by the hand, as the court bursts into applause and shouts of joy, and as courtiers scatter to all parts of the castle to plan the upcoming wedding.

Princess Mary Stuart walks to the King of Denmark bows and speaks:


"Gracious King I am still ever so happy with the news that you have chosen to make me your wife. I have gotten word that my brother wishes to discuss when exactly the wedding is to take place. I hope it is very soon because i am ready to start serving the King and people of Denmark and produce heirs for you."

 

[Sharur]

The King smiles kindly at his new soon-to-be bride.

"Your enthusiasm is contagious, madam. I must confess that I, too, can barely wait for the day. Unfortunately, I imagine that the date we choose must be some ways off in the future, as you surely will want to invite nobility from all over your home country, and I shall invite friends and nobles from across Europe to witness this momentous event."

"Aye m'lord you are the master in this relationship and the King of a great nation. I leave the marriage and invitations up to you as this event will be a great one for Denmark, and for Scotland. What are your favorite parts in your nation. I am curious to learn about my homeland. I hope we will be able to tour Denmark and Norway after our future marriage, and my brother asks that you and I must come to Scotland to visit after the marriage."

Peter von Erlach came to His Magesty King of Denmark:

"Your Magesty, My Duke ask me to inform you that NWGA was broken and Hosltein now look for the new millitary alliance. Hienrich IV want to ask you and another members of the Northen Alliance if his state can join it. I think it will help to develope cooperation between our states. My duke want to inform your magesty that he look for the wife for his son Crown-Prince Adolf and he will be happy if she will be from Denmark Royal House..."

I personally believe that the King would be happy to have Holstein in the Northern Alliance; however, the current negotiations between His Majesty and Marshall Tott are incomplete; and, as these negotiations may well alter the very fabric of our proud Union, he cannot commit to any such political arrangements at this time."

"You want to say that Swedes want to change our Union treaty?.. Can you inform my Duke in a letter in what way changes will be make? My lord want to know if it possible to rebuild good relations between state of Gottorf and Sweden after this negotiations."

A letter arrives from Moskva

"Your Grace,

I have recently been negotiating with Holstein, and I have heard a lot about you. I wish to join the Hansa trade union, but for now there are some problems with doing so. In the future I wish to get a port in the baltic as it is very important for the future trade of Russia, and so I want to become friends with countries in the Baltic. I want to ask you a very big favor, and consider allowing Russia to enter the Northern Alliance. Me and Holstein are discussing a way we can create a new trade route from Russia through the Wite Sea, and then to the North Sea. But there are many problems. The biggest problem is Pskov, and WHU, but I think with your support and the support we are already getting from Holstein we can overcome thouse problems. I hope that you will be understanding of our problems in Russia, and that you will be willing to help us.
