Respected lord Duke of Ezpeleta,

I speak for King John when I say that it continues to puzzle him why he needs to repeat again and again the same things in explanation of himself.

It seems there is either a language barrier or a distinct and intentional stupidity involved when "facts" are put before your distinguished King.

Yet again, someone has neglected to point out the relevant(and obvious) quotes.

No "punchbag" is neaded for a DEFENSIVE alliance.A bag is hardly likely to get up and hit you is it?

As for interfeering in Mediterranean quarrels. We will always have interests there all the while the heart of our church resides there.
We also don't hold with bullying nations intimidating the small ones.

King Charles VII took great offence of the alliance since he sees it’s directly pointed against him......We know he thinks that. But if King John sneezes King Charles seems to rant of aggretion when peace is our only goal.

It was he, that on the day of our first contact, informed my King that he would not even speak with him until he gave over a channel province!

My King also says that,

"Our Royal interests in the present situation with Naples is one of concern but little more. The Queen is due to be my sister-in-law though and that will certainly effect my judgement."

The ambiguity of the Alliance is wholey intentional.It is a loose affilliation of worried countries, who have no further loyalty to one another than to ensure the non agression of France in light of its attitude to the Treaty of Arras so far.


The effort to stop another hundred years war started the second Good King John sat on the throne. It has only been France to create objection and troubles.

His Majesty Juan II will be most welcome at Warwick in any season, but his majesty suggests that the thrill off a boar hunt at this time of year is most thrilling. Perhaps after the marriage of my brother?

My lord the duke wish to see me as his ducal representive in all the nations at the Iberian penisula. Because Kleve is a small country in the Holy Roman Empire we wil not have in every nation a diplomatic envoy. My dear Juan II King of Castille y Leon

You French ambassidor Fernando de Villar-Villamil, Duke of Ezpeleta de Veire writes to me again. Obviuosly in some confussion yet again.

He seems to think the Treaty of Arras has failed. As that would meen war i decided to look out of my window and see if there was a battle raging. It seemed not, though two of my gaurds were brawling by the gate.

Would you ask him to at least open his eyes once in a while?
I know it is hard, for Charles sends many to sleep with his rhetoric, but we do feel your man should try harder.

He also has the ordasity "order" me to re write the Treaty of Arras ( Toilet paper.) as he calls it.

Now I'm sure your a King that understands protocol. Please stop him sending such gibberish.

As his note came from Paris it was very nearly burnt by accident.

Please restrain your man, for he evidently listens to Charles sureal rantings

Faith is talked by many, but defended by few. If it wasn't for Auvergne's size and political situation, my troops would be fighting along yours in Granada. Unfortunately, years of war have completely wrecked the organisation of my troops, and my economy is in ruin. But, if you would need help in any ways, please feel free to do so.

It is with great concern that I have learned of the nomination of Queen Giovannia at the "throne" of Normandie. This could destroy the dlicate balance of peace in Western Europe. The mere fact that the Duchy of Normandie exist is somewhat disturbing, not unlike the existence of Granada. It is logicial for Granada to be under the wise rule of Castille y Leon, and in the same way, it is logical for Normandie to be under French rule. Unfortunately, the Treaty of Arras, giving us peace, is now become SINFUL! It is forbidding France God-given right to rule over many regions now control by England. Why, maybe the King of England would want to attack annex Leon next. The King of England's ambitions are becoming more and more clear.

I hope war would never come, like you never wished to attack Granada. But who are we to argue against God-given rights?

Your current ambassador has been expelled from Lisbon, and Geraldo Deartalio withdrawn. Feel free to send a new ambassador to Lisbon if you so wish.

I re-iterate. If it is your wish, that a pact similar to that of the previous one, or even totally different, be RE-negotiated. Portugal is willing to comply with that request.

Therefore, if any hostile action were to come about. It would be your sole responsibility. By virtue of your unwillingless to come to an agreement.
