Now, once the Portugese arrive, we can begin to discuss this alliance, and I have some requests. I desire this alliance to have five members, and since Aragon shall not be able to join with us, I request that if Burgundy desires, we can extend our alliance to them."

I have recieved word through your ambassador in Dijon that you are looking for a bride. I believe a marriage between yourself and a member of my family would only tighten the great bond of friendship between our two lands. Thus I must suggest Jeanne de Bourgogne, one of my sisters. Despite her education by some of the finest tutors in the world, she has remained unmarried. She is 21 and is very willing to be faithful and serve such a great man as yourself. If you wish to see her, I will send her to your Royal Court.

Doge John II once again begins to speak with the King.

"My friend, I am anxious to get these talks underway, for I am to go to Vienna to speak with the sister of the Archduke. I have invited Burgundy to this alliance, and I will begin the alliance talks and when the representatives from Burgundy and Portugal arrive, they can read what the scribes have written and add their own thoughts and opinions.

First, the goal of this alliance will be to protect each other and to bring christianity to the muslims still in Iberia and in North Africa, including Egypt. This alliance shall be for the purpose of crusading, but should need be, we will defend ourselves against overly powerhungry neighbors. All decisions shall be made by a council. Should one country in our alliance go to war and desire aid from the alliance, it shall be brought before the council and the council shall vote to decide if the alliance shall be called to aide this country. This shall prevent any of us thinking we can use this alliance to help expand our territories in christian territory. Should any of us come under attack, the council shall be foregone and we shall immediately aide the country under attack. Since I don't want a tie in the council votes, I desire for an odd number of countries in this alliance, preferably another crusading country. If anyone has any thoughts, modifications, or any other things, please say so now."

Gentlemen, I have recieved a letter from the Doge asking for me to send a delegate. Since I recieved in message, while I was travelling here to further talks with the both of you on important issues, I decided to represent Burgundy, myself. I am honored to be in the same room with two men as distinguished as yourselves. Even though I travelled many days to get here, does not mean I have much time. I might need to meet the Duke of Gelre in a few weeks. So if we could start soon, I would appreciate it.

"Noble Lords,

I have already begun to speak, if you desire to read the records the scribes have written, feel free. So far, this is what my aide has managaged to come up with for a treaty.

The Iberian Crusader Alliance

Goal: The goal of this alliance is to protect the members within and to begin the conquest and christianization of Iberia and North Africa.

Rules:
All decisions regarding the alliance shall be decided in a council. The council shall consist of a delegate from each country involved in the alliance. Majority votes win. Note: A country withing the alliance can declare war without the alliance's approval, but the council will decide whether or not the alliance shall join, so it would be wise if you desire the alliance's aide, if you would bring it before the council, the go to war.

Should another country declare war upon a country within this alliance, no council shall be called, all members of the alliance shall immediately go to war with the aggressor, within the capacity what the own country can perform. As gentlemen in an agrement, the support shall always be brotherly. The attacked country shall decide when the time for peace comes. The dignity of an allied country shall never be compromised.

Should any member of the alliance leave the alliance during a time of war, or in other words, dishonour the alliance, the remaining members shall call up the council to vote whether or not the alliance should go to war with that country.

Duke Phillipe of Burgundy begins to speak

I believe we should add a stipulation stating if a country leaves this alliance, then the council shall vote on wheter to declare war on this country or not. This is a just a safety feature to make sure, no one member backstabs the rest of the alliance and get away with it

We the Castillian have listen to the wise word of the Genoese Doge, this was his last pargraph in the treaty:

"Hmm... I can not speak for noble King Juan here, but I, in the name of Portugal and my people feel that this is a little strange. What in the name of god are Duke Philipe doing here. Burgundy does not even have a boarder to ANY of our countries. Well, Genoa does not either, but at least it has a seacoast to the medeterainnian sea. Burgundy has not the same people, thoughts, culture or any thing that we have. I suggest that the noble Duke leaves this conversation at once. Dear brother Juan of Castille, what are your thoughts about this. I know where my friend the Doge stands, but with you I am unsure."

He waits the King's answer.
