The Kruja Albanian Royal Court

The Renovations to the Kruja will take time as King Gjon has pressing matters at hand...

The Kruja is a castle situated on a rocky outcropping surrounded by olive plantations exsisting since antiquity.

Our great king Gjon I Kastrioti formed our modestest country on this spot standing on the highest parpat of the fortress releasing the flag the people saw the flag knowing that the Ottoman tyranny has ended and a strong proud people would begin to live.
He yelled out to the land below
"I have not brought you liberty, I have found it amoung you."

Gjon has led us to victory his strength but his strength is only equal to his faith and compassion and his dreams to unite all Albania tribes in Hellas, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Ragusa. Gjon was born unto a privilaged family and joined various military acadamies he joined the Ottoman army and eventually became a general, he later defected forming a new country in middle Albania over the years it has expanded. His son Gjerje the crown prince is held hostage by the Ottomans as protection from Albania and the surrounding Slavioc Countries from forming a united frobt

The 15 Rules of Kruja
- Do not show support of actions against our state
- Show nothing but respect
- An open mind is welcome but one should mind their tounge
- Mention nothing of the kidnapped Crown Prince
- Speak only when adressed
- The fallen are to be respected, speak no ill of the fallen
- Expect the strong to better you
- Offer a small tribute of some sort be it material or spirtaul
- The weak will be ignored
- Speak not of our advaasaries unless it is of grave importence
- Absorb the culture of Albania guests must spead up to two week living in the town of Durres or Kruja before requesting an audience
- Speak not over trifle matters
- Do not disrespect the King Gjon
- Leave the court stronger, wiser and more faithful than when you arrived
- Ask not for anything in return

"Good King Djon, the Sultan was quite upset when you abruptly parted his company last month. You had asked that the issue of your sons be revisited, and the Sultan showed himself quite willing to do so, offering very generous conditions for improving the situation. If you wish to continue those discussions, I am empowered to do so. If not..."

He shrugs. "Well, matters may remain as they are."

"Albania may be a small nation but given support of other catholic countries we could storm your lands and take him back myself I am a changed manand never speak of my son again, tell your sultun I will not be harassed no longer I ask not for war now leave my halls at once before I have the gaurds kill you and change my mind."

Gjon sighed and said " I do not hate the Ottomans but this mans actions may start a war for such an insult as King Dijon and disobeying court rules"

Constantine gratefully departed Albania. He had not enjoyed his time in those barren mountains. And the king had spoken very rapidly, refusing to pause at the end of sentences, making it quite difficult to understand him.

As he reached the friendly countryside of Macedonia, he mentally rehearsed his report to Yunus Emre, the Grand Vizier.

The king is of unstable mind. Perhaps he took insult at our hospitality, but he now apparently does not wish to have his sons back and refuses to speak of them. Having threatened war against the Sultan, it may be best simply to execute them and remove his excuse...

King Djon 1 Kastrioti

I received your ambassador in my court not long ago, and was disappointed in his manner. A military man he may be, but to speak so uncourteously in the presence of such a commanding man as myself is not the diplomatic way. I have sent him to return to you. I hope this will not damage relations between our two states, but I ask, should you wish to continue exchange of ambassadors, send a more polite embassy.

Well I wondered when your King would contact me and I welcome your grretings most heartily. And in gratitude I offer military access to Albania and accept yous. I offer a Trade aggreement to you also. Prehaps your King could visit me here in Naples and discuss the future of Our aggreements.

And with that Daniel I King Of Naples dismisses him.

"My lord,
I am most pleased to hear form you recently, forgive the lateness of my reply but a minor outbreak of sickness in the palace forbade messengers from their duties.

I believe a non-aggression pact would be in order and perhaps further correspondence between our realms would be beneficial to both of us."

Riding through the gates of the Kruja with his retinue, Duke Alexios Constantinidis of Athens dismounts his horse and enters the King's court.

"Your majesty, the Duke of Athens" announced an Albanian Squire.

The Duke swept in gracefully and kneeled in front of the King.

"When I received your letter, I came as swiftly as I could. I assume that we now await the arrival of the Sultan?"

King Gjon looks angry and irritated he began to speak.

"I fear he may not be in arrival for I herd word of his attacks on Constatinople If what I hear is true there will not be peace between the Ottomans and Albainia and I suggest you consider defending the patriarc of your religion.

As about the envoys the one I sent to Athens was a wrong and he will be punished and as for your messenger I will let the King Djon remarke go"

"Many apologies for my messenger, your majesty, he shall be punished accordingly."

The Duke walks over to the window and looks thoughtfully out of it.

"I am aware of a possible attack on Constantinople. But be aware, our nation is rather friendly with the Ottomans and any act of aggression against them will not be taken lightly."

He turns to look at the King.

"Your majesty, should you decide to declare war upon the Ottoman Empire, know that I shall go as far as to break all diplomatic relations with you, and possibly go as far as declaring war on this nation. I think it fair to warn you, and also you should know that I will take no pleasure in doing so."

He sighs deeply.

"I must ride back to Athens, there are important...pressing matters to attend to."

Duke Alexios, bows and walks out of the room, followed by his retinue, mounts his horse and rides back to Athens.

A letter arrives for King Gjon.

A Savoyian soldier enters the court, and bows to the King.

"A moment of your time, your Majesty. I am a soldier in the Savoyian army. Although Savoy will not help in your ill-advised war against the Ottoman Empire, we bring greetings and an offer of friendship.

Currently, the Emperor at Constantinople is onboard a ship, heading to Rome. If it pleases your Majesty, perhaps an envoy from your country may accompany us, since you are rather close to the infidels in the Golden Horde."

The soldier bows, then leaves, awaiting the Albanian responce.

The janisseries do not need to look to the Grand Vizier for orders. The Albanian is skewered from four directions before he has taken 3 steps.

Yunus Emre frowns from his seat. "Bring forth the sons of King Djon of Albania," the Grand Vizier says softly.
