The Orthodox church is far less centralized than the Catholic church...in fact, there are a number of important Patriarchs...one in Antioch, one in Alexandria, one in Jerusalem(Still?), and of course one in Constantinople...they also recognize the Patriarch of the West as being the Pope in Rome. In fact, theoretically, the Pope is given great respect as the 'Patriarch of the Patriarchs" so to speak. The bone between them is this...in the Eastern Orthodox church, to a great degree the individual Patriarch's appoint their own bishops for their area...I think there's some similar person up in Russia...not to clear there...I know there's a Russian patriarch today, though he's not one of the original five.
